The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (ASSUAN) is a non-governmental and non-profit coalition of organizations united by a shared mission to foster a Nigeria where every citizen enjoys food and nutrition security. Through strategic engagement with government and non-state actors, ASSUAN drives awareness, fosters sustained commitment, and promotes effective actions to combat under-nutrition across the country. Officially inaugurated on August 7, 2014, the coalition operates with a clearly defined vision, distinct roles and responsibilities, a robust accountability framework, and a strong emphasis on sustainability.
ASSUAN’s guiding principles are anchored in evidence-based decision-making, gender mainstreaming, equity, feedback mechanisms, diversity, cost-effectiveness, transparency, and integrity.
