Under the oversight of the Logistics Manager, with whom the Logistics Assistant/Driver will maintain direct technical coordination, this role encompasses the maintenance and repair of MDM facilities as well as the operation of MDM vehicles.

The incumbent will ensure the upkeep and operational readiness of MDM facilities by performing a range of maintenance tasks, including equipment servicing, grounds maintenance, and assessing repair requirements. Responsibilities also encompass addressing maintenance requests across multiple disciplines, such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Additionally, the role involves operating MDM vehicles in strict adherence to established procedures.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency and effective problem-solving abilities. They must exhibit meticulous organization, general repair expertise, and reliable driving capabilities. TASKS DESCRIPTION:

The position entails overseeing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems within assigned premises, ensuring all operations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining optimal functionality. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing issues, performing repairs or installations, and providing timely maintenance to prevent disruptions. Additionally, the role may involve collaborating with contractors, managing work orders, and documenting service activities to ensure accountability and efficiency in facility upkeep.

Diagnose and trace all system faults, then assess the full scope of repairs needed to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Prepares comprehensive estimates detailing the materials, parts, and components required for procurement, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.

Ensure the materials selected for procurement meet established quality standards and specifications.

To provide guidance on the most effective repair methodologies, balancing economic considerations with quality standards, ensuring optimal execution.

Perform a wide range of repairs encompassing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems with expertise and precision.

Identifies components requiring replacement and performs the necessary actions before any detrimental impact occurs.

Execute all repairs meticulously in strict alignment with globally recognized industry standards and best practices.

Assist all contractors by providing guidance and resources necessary for the successful completion of their assigned tasks within the premises.

All operations must be executed with rigorous adherence to safety protocols and standards to protect personnel, equipment, and the surrounding environment.

Maintain a comprehensive record of all repairs and replacements, providing a detailed biweekly report.

Conduct thorough inspections of all MDM properties on a weekly or daily basis, assessing requirements and preparing detailed reports as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet operational demands while minimizing excess. Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to verify stock accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast demand, adjust purchase orders, and prevent stock outs or overstock situations. Utilize inventory management systems to track movement, generate reports, and analyze trends for informed decision-making. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements throughout all stock-related processes. Provide timely updates to stakeholders on inventory status, potential risks, and action plans to address gaps or inefficiencies.

Verify, log, and store incoming merchandise as directed by the Logistics Manager.

Consistently monitor stock quantities through accurate physical inventory counts.

Upon receipt of an order, verify the quantity of packages, inspect both packaging and contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged items—to the Logistics Manager.

Upon receipt of each delivery, promptly update the stock cards by entering the receipt document’s reference number and then store the goods in accordance with the instructions provided by the Logistics Manager.

Ensure the availability of frequently used items in the store

Guarantee that every item is meticulously organized, securely stored, clearly identified, and readily accessible, with attention to cleanliness, safety, and ease of retrieval.

Vehicles must be operated with a strong emphasis on passenger safety and the secure transport of materials and equipment, ensuring all journeys are conducted with diligence and adherence to protocols.

We ensure strict adherence to MDM driving regulations to maintain safety and compliance standards across all operations. Candidates must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and demonstrate a minimum of three years of professional driving experience. Responsibilities include operating company vehicles per federal and state guidelines, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate logs in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also requires the ability to identify and report mechanical issues or safety hazards promptly to mitigate risks.

Adapting their behavior and driving to ensure the safety of passengers, MDM equipment, and all other road users, including drivers and pedestrians.

Always adhere strictly to the Nigerian traffic regulations and maintain compliance with all posted speed limits at all times.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols by consistently wearing your seatbelt while operating the vehicle and verifying that all passengers fasten theirs as well.

You must possess a valid driver’s license and keep it readily available for any inspections that may occur.

To ensure all required documentation remains current and compliant, it is essential to verify and renew items prior to their expiration, including annual roadworthiness inspections and the registration of primary drivers with the rental company.

Responsible for ensuring the vehicle remains in optimal operating condition through regular inspections, servicing, and prompt repairs as needed.

Regularly inspecting the vehicle’s engine, oil levels, brake fluid, tire pressure, and windshield washer fluid constitutes a key responsibility of this role.

Upon encountering a technical issue or necessitating maintenance, promptly notify the immediate supervisor to ensure timely intervention and resolution.

After receiving approval from the direct supervisor, the incumbent is expected to either coordinate or, when feasible, personally execute all required maintenance tasks.

The vehicle must be meticulously maintained both internally and externally to ensure optimal cleanliness at all times.

The vehicle must be thoroughly inspected to confirm the presence and proper condition of all essential equipment and materials, including tools, a spare wheel, an airlift, belts, ropes, and other required items.

Each refueling operation is conducted when the tank reaches the halfway point of its capacity.

Other duties may include collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance. The role may require conducting thorough data analysis to inform decision-making, preparing detailed reports on findings, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders.
