The Supervisor Medical Data Entry oversees and supports data entry staff, ensures data quality, and contributes to epidemiological surveillance, reporting, and decision-making during emergency and outbreak responses.
Nigeria Emergency Response Unit (NERU) Scenarios:

Accountabilities:
Supervise, organize, and plan the work of medical data entry and data processing staff to ensure reliable recording of medical activities.
Ensure collection, collation, and entry of medical data (e.g. morbidity, mortality, epidemic surveillance, nutrition, SGBV, mental health) into appropriate data management systems.
Perform regular quality control of data entry and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
Ensure proper and effective use of data management software and tools, including DHIS2, Epi Info, and Excel.
Carry out regular data back-ups and ensure data security and confidentiality in line with MSF standards.
Provide technical support and on-the-job training to data entry staff and medical teams involved in data collection.
Produce regular statistical reports and situation updates for the medical team, highlighting missing data, trends, and major discrepancies.
Set up and maintain data collection systems for inpatient and outpatient departments during emergency responses.
Support epidemic surveillance activities, including line-list updates, graph production, and reporting on outbreak evolution, in collaboration with epidemiology teams and health authorities.
Report any data management issues or system failures promptly to the NERU Epidemiologist and relevant mission focal points.
Maintain proper organisation and filing of patient records and data management equipment, ensuring strict confidentiality.
Demonstrate flexibility to cover data processing roles when required and support other activities according to project needs.
REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE)
Education
Essential: Tertiary education or qualification in computer science, administration, data entry, statistics Desirable: Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline
Experience
Essential: At least 1 year of working experience with MSF or 2 years of working experience with other NGOsExperience using DHIS2 Desirable: Experience using data analysis tools such as QGIS, Stata, or R
Languages
Essential: fluent English Desirable: Hausa and/or Fulfulde (Fulani) (working level)
Knowledge
Essential: Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet)Medical data management and use of DHIS2 Desirable: Knowledge of medical statistics databases and data analysis tools (Stata, R analytical tool and QGIS)
