Establishing, servicing, and decommissioning lighting fixtures, control systems, and related electrical and rigging components essential for photography, television, film, video, and live event productions.
Responsibilities include the installation, precise alignment, leveling, and securing of substantial industrial machinery, with tasks such as assembling cranes, mobile booms, or temporary frameworks like scaffolding.
Rigging, programming, monitoring, repairing, and operating lighting equipment are performed to elevate events and performances, encompassing tasks such as loading in equipment, managing cable organization, hanging lighting fixtures (which may require climbing), and focusing the equipment.
Responsibilities include configuring and managing the lighting system for productions, executing lighting effects according to the specifications provided by the Lighting Designer, and operating manual or automated systems throughout performances.
Evaluating wiring configurations and equipment installations to mitigate hazards such as fire or electrical shock, ensuring all lighting systems remain operational and secure.
After each performance, equipment must be disassembled and stored, and post-production responsibilities include the installation of temporary electrical power systems.
After completing operations, rigging equipment must be dismantled and securely stored, while all safety concerns are promptly reported and occupational health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
