Nestlé Nigeria is seeking a Manufacturing Excellence Specialist to deliver expert guidance in enhancing operational performance and optimizing the utilization of manufacturing assets, with a focus on total delivered cost, quality, and service excellence. The role encompasses the implementation and maintenance of industry best practices and business initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and effectiveness across the factory, business, and market operations.

In the role of Manufacturing Excellence Specialist, each day presents opportunities to drive operational improvements and enhance production processes. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include analyzing manufacturing data, optimizing workflows, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce waste. The ideal candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, and experience with process optimization tools. Additionally, effective communication and project management abilities are essential to foster a culture of excellence within the organization.

Delivers expert assistance in optimizing manufacturing asset performance and utilization, ensuring total delivered cost, quality, and service standards are met.

Implementation of industry-leading practices and strategic business initiatives, with a focus on seamless integration within factory operations, business processes, and market expansion efforts to drive sustainable performance improvements.

Establish and implement standardized frameworks for key operational metrics, including Line, Labor, Energy, and Material performance, alongside the development of corresponding KPIs tailored to the Factory’s objectives.

Develop and deploy interactive dashboards and operational review platforms utilizing Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Teams.

Perform line studies aimed at enhancing production efficiency and optimizing resource utilization.

Assess factory performance data to identify losses, then implement targeted initiatives to mitigate them.

Lead focused improvement project teams addressing targeted losses throughout all organizational functions.

Proficiency in utilizing standard metrics for evaluating manufacturing performance, including the Capacity Summary Tool and DMO (Digital Manufacturing Operations) systems, is essential at all pertinent operational levels within the facility.

Champion digital transformation initiatives within the manufacturing facility by collaborating with key stakeholders to conceptualize, deploy, and provide training for innovative and existing digital solutions.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of achieving measurable results in similar positions, along with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities, enabling them to articulate complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science & Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required.

Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing Excellence is required.

A minimum of two years of experience leading Six Sigma or DMAIC projects is required.

Intermediate proficiency in data analytics, with strong command of tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Power Apps is required.
