SPIE Services Nigeria Limited seeks an experienced PSV Senior Technician to strengthen its team in Nigeria. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, rigorous testing, meticulous maintenance, and accurate certification of Pressure Safety Valves across upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities, ensuring compliance with DPR/NU PRC regulations, API standards, and the company’s HSE policies. Strip, thoroughly clean, and lap the seats, then replace the springs, bellows, and O-rings on valves manufactured by Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Laser, and Harris.
Execute urgent repairs promptly during unanticipated shutdowns to mitigate potential flaring penalties.
We conduct rigorous testing and certification processes to ensure products meet stringent quality, safety, and compliance standards. Responsibilities include evaluating product performance, verifying adherence to regulatory requirements, and documenting findings with precision. Candidates must possess a strong background in quality assurance, familiarity with testing methodologies, and the ability to interpret technical specifications. Proficiency in relevant standards, such as ISO or IEC, is essential, along with meticulous attention to detail and effective communication skills. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is often required to resolve discrepancies and streamline certification workflows.
Conduct statutory PSV testing and recertification in accordance with NU PRC Guidelines and API 576 standards, which generally require intervals of 12 to 36 months based on service conditions.
Perform both bench and in-situ testing procedures utilizing deadweight and portable pop testers across FPS Os, flow stations, refineries, and gas processing facilities.

Prepare and distribute PSV certification tags that comply with NU PRC standards and meet the requirements of third-party inspectors.
Ensures adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards as well as regulatory compliance across all operations. Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures to mitigate risks, reduce incidents, and ensure full compliance with pertinent laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Conducts regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Provides training and guidance to staff on HSE protocols and regulatory obligations to foster a culture of safety and accountability. Collaborates with management and cross-functional teams to integrate HSE and compliance requirements into operational planning and decision-making processes. Investigates incidents, implements corrective actions, and maintains accurate records to support continuous improvement and regulatory reporting.
Ensure full adherence to the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Safety Regulations of 1997 and all National Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NAGPRA) mandates.
Prepare all necessary Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Toolbox Talk documentation prior to commencing any work activities.
Profile
Minimum qualification required includes an ND or HND in Mechanical Engineering from a polytechnic accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NOTE), with a preference given to candidates holding a Bachelor of Engineering degree for roles at the International Oil Company (IOC).
API 510 or API 570 certification is required, with SOVIET and DUET qualifications necessary for offshore positions. Holding CORE registration would be considered a favorable asset.
8–10 years of experience in the oil & gas sector, including a minimum of 6 years dedicated to PSV maintenance. Familiarity with FASO or LNG operations is advantageous.
