This position involves assisting the Country Technical Director in managing the factory’s technical and production operations, serving as a crucial deputy to maintain smooth, efficient manufacturing processes. The incumbent will receive structured development and mentorship to prepare for a future Technical Director role, equipping them with the skills and experience needed to independently lead a country’s technical operations.

Responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, overseeing cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals, and implementing policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, the role involves analyzing performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, managing stakeholder relationships to foster collaboration, and developing training programs to support team development and performance. Assist the Country Technical Director by implementing Group manufacturing strategy, policies, and procedures into practical operational plans and initiatives tailored to the factory level.

Provide support to the Country Technical Director by assisting in the preparation and assessment of capital expenditure investment proposals pertaining to machinery, site development, and automation infrastructure.

Support the Country Technical Director by overseeing daily production operations, encompassing strategic planning, efficient scheduling, and rigorous performance monitoring.

The role involves managing and facilitating engineering initiatives within the production facility, such as equipment enhancements, automated system implementations, and utility oversight, with a focus on timely delivery, budget adherence, and adherence to specified requirements.

Spearhead the implementation of process automation technologies to significantly minimize the need for manual intervention.

Facilitate research and development initiatives and contribute to the advancement of new product development efforts at the manufacturing facility.

Play a key role in driving continuous improvement efforts, including waste reduction initiatives and the adoption of lean manufacturing principles throughout the facility.

Collaborate closely with the Group Technical Department and the Country Technical Director to identify, assess, and finalize the selection of external contractors and machine suppliers.

Collaborate closely with the Country Technical Director to provide supervision, coaching, and professional development for the technical and production teams within the factory.

Serve as the key liaison for the technical team in the Country Technical Director’s temporary absence, maintaining seamless operational continuity.

Assist the Country Technical Director in developing and overseeing the factory’s yearly technical and production budget, while monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to Group financial protocols and regulatory mandates.

Develop and sustain robust collaborative partnerships with manufacturing teams, internal technical departments, external suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless operational alignment and compliance.

Prepare and submit periodic reports on factory technical and production performance to the Country Technical Director, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to convey the implications of technical or process modifications on production and supply, developing solutions that preserve quality and cost objectives.

Candidates must possess prior experience within fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or food manufacturing operational settings.

Professionals seeking this role must possess verifiable practical expertise in food production methodologies, adherence to quality benchmarks, and strict compliance with food safety protocols, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.

Proficiency in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, process automation platforms, or industrial control systems is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in AI, data analytics, or digital manufacturing tools utilized within a production setting is highly beneficial.

Proficient in both written and spoken English, with fluency being a critical requirement for Group reporting and cross-country collaboration. Proficiency in French is considered an additional advantage.

Computer literacy is required, including proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and ERP systems.

Accomplished in overseeing engineering and production initiatives, fostering ongoing advancements, and ensuring measurable outcomes in a manufacturing environment.

A deep understanding of food science principles, food engineering concepts, R&D methodologies, and production workflows is essential.
