Job Summary:
The Project Officer – Integrated Health plays a pivotal role in facilitating the design, execution, and evaluation of integrated health initiatives, including Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health, Global Health Security, and Polio, in strict alignment with CRS program standards and national health regulations. Working closely under the guidance of the Senior Project Officer, this position involves active collaboration with state teams, strategic partners, and local community organizations to ensure the provision of accessible, high-impact, and community-focused health services in underserved regions.
This position plays a key role in executing routine immunization programs, conducting supplemental health initiatives, strengthening disease surveillance systems, and contributing to program reporting. Additionally, the Project Officer provides support for capacity-building efforts, oversight activities, and collaborative partner engagement to enhance health outcomes among vulnerable groups. The role is based in Kaduna, Kaduna State.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
The position demands the execution of key tasks alongside adherence to overarching objectives. Primary duties include overseeing critical functions, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Additional responsibilities encompass analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. The role also requires active participation in cross-departmental meetings, fostering collaboration, and maintaining clear communication channels to facilitate seamless workflows. Furthermore, the incumbent will be tasked with monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
Coordinate and execute assigned project activities in alignment with the detailed implementation plan, CRS program quality standards, donor specifications, and established best practices.
Monitor project advancement, pinpoint obstacles or deficiencies, and communicate results to facilitate prompt plan adjustments and schedule modifications. Assist partners in evaluating project experiences to enhance outcomes.
In partnership with stakeholders, oversee project evaluation processes, guaranteeing the accurate collection and analysis of data through designated tools and methodologies. Support the compilation of reports in alignment with the predetermined reporting timeline.
Evaluate the staffing and partner organization capacity requirements, oversee the execution of technical support and capacity development initiatives, and ensure accurate documentation to verify the efficacy of interventions.
Consolidate all project documentation—such as case studies, best practices, lessons learned, success stories, and field challenges—for designated activities.
Support the execution and deployment of integrated health interventions—such as health communication and social and behavior change communication (SBCC) initiatives—at both the community and facility levels, ensuring alignment with established project work plans.
Develop and enhance the skills of community health workers (CHWs), volunteers, and facility staff through targeted training sessions and ongoing technical assistance, focusing on integrated health messaging, maternal and child health, reproductive health, immunization, nutrition, and surveillance for vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).
Facilitate structured feedback sessions, establish clear referral pathways, and implement follow-up mechanisms tailored to the needs of vulnerable populations, ensuring seamless service delivery while enhancing community engagement.
Conduct routine field assessments to evaluate program quality, service delivery, and compliance with national health protocols, organizational policies, and donor mandates.
Collaborate with community-based organization (CBO) partners to draft comprehensive work plans and detailed implementation strategies, leveraging SIA calendars and NEW micro plans under the supervision of the Senior Project Officer.
English fluency is mandatory for this role, while proficiency in Hausa is highly advantageous.
Must be prepared to undertake travel obligations, accounting for as much as 70% of the role’s requirements, with the flexibility to accommodate frequent and extended periods away from the primary work location.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with prior industry experience totaling at least 3–5 years. Additional certifications or advanced training in specialized areas are highly valued.
Proficiency in project monitoring and related data collection methods is highly desirable.
Experience in nutrition, maternal and child health, immunization/polio programs, and work within an NGO environment is highly beneficial.
Supervisory responsibilities are not required for this position.
Key Collaborations: Serves as a liaison between various departments, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment of objectives. Engages regularly with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration, address operational challenges, and drive strategic initiatives. Maintains strong connections with key partners to support decision-making processes and enhance overall organizational performance.
Program Manager, Senior Project Officer, Head of Programming, Deputy Country Representative, alongside the Country Program Operations and Finance Team, are all integral components of our internal organizational structure.
The CGPP Secretariat collaborates with key global and national health organizations, including WHO, UNICEF, SPH CDA, CDC, MOLINA Health, SMOG, and the EOC, as well as state-level PHC teams and Local Government Area PHC teams, along with CGPP CRS CBO partners.
We require candidates to meet the following foundational qualifications: a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, and proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Additionally, strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Experience in project management and a track record of delivering results within tight deadlines are highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and a commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards are also required.
A bachelor’s degree in a discipline aligned with public health, nursing, nutrition, midwifery, or a closely related field is required.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience is required, with at least three of those years dedicated to supporting development projects. Ideal candidates will have gained this experience within the context of an international non-governmental organization.
Proven expertise in collaborative action planning, health program development, and community mobilization initiatives.
