We are currently seeking a skilled professional to fill the position identified by FSN 9, requiring expertise in the specified field. We are seeking a consultancy for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension upon successful completion of the initial term.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
CSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (CSI) is a global public health management consulting and research organization committed to enhancing the health of individuals and communities worldwide. At present, CSI is executing the Routine Immunization Project across nine states in Nigeria. The initiative aims to fortify routine immunization systems by sustainably addressing persistent challenges that impede progress, including stagnating and declining vaccination rates in supported states. Additionally, it seeks to eliminate barriers preventing zero-dose and under-immunized children in urban slums and remote communities from accessing life-saving vaccines and essential health services.
SUMMARY:
The State Immunization Technical Advisor will provide direct support to the State Primary Health Care Agency or Board (SPH CDA/B) team in the assigned Nigerian state, offering strategic leadership to enhance the planning and execution of national priority initiatives at both state and Local Government Area (LGA) levels. In coordination with the CSI team, the advisor will contribute to all facets of vaccination technical assistance and routine immunization support, pending final approval.
Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, project execution, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor key performance indicators to assess operational performance, providing data-driven insights to senior management for informed decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability and excellence by mentoring team members, delegating tasks appropriately, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
The State Immunization Advisor will deliver specialized technical guidance to the State Public Health Coordination Division (PHCD) and collaborate with local partners to enhance immunization initiatives.
Positioned as a senior-level technical advisor, you will provide strategic guidance to SPH CDA/B while actively collaborating as an integral member of relevant technical subcommittees and working groups focused on routine immunization efforts.
In partnership with the NPHC DA and technical collaborators, conduct comprehensive assessments of immunization initiatives within the designated state and assist in producing high-quality reports for submission to the national level.
Collaborate with the SPH CDA/B technical working groups and subcommittees to establish and align state-level support with national strategies, including the Zero Dose Reduction initiative and the Measles Rubella Switch.
Provide technical support in evaluating program performance, working closely with partners to gather and assess data, track progress, and assist SPH CDA/B in strategic leadership for designing and executing corrective measures.
Establish and maintain strategic connections between CSI and local partners, including NGOs and other organizations, to facilitate collaboration, resource mobilization, and program support. Collaborate closely with these entities to deliver consistent technical guidance and expertise across all levels of program implementation.
Oversee the preparation and timely submission of reports to CSI and associated partners, encompassing both routine updates and comprehensive final deliverables.
Maintain consistent communication with members of the CSI Nigeria leadership team as well as the global Immunization practice team via email, phone, Slack, or other appropriate platforms.
Reporting to the CSI Nigeria Immunization Project Director, you will lead state-level implementation efforts and provide direct supervision to the CSI state team, ensuring seamless execution of all project activities at the state level.
Perform any additional responsibilities as directed by management to support operational needs.

Proficient in immunization programming, carcinology, and maternal and child health, with a demonstrated understanding of these critical areas.
A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in team leadership roles is required, along with a proven ability to deliver strategic direction to government and partner stakeholders. Additionally, candidates must possess at least five years of professional experience in public health and primary health care.
Extensive hands-on experience implementing immunization initiatives across diverse urban and rural environments is essential.
A solid understanding of the organizational framework and operational structure of the Ministry of Health in Nigeria is required.
Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Proficient command of the English language is essential.
