Role Summary

The Medical Officer and Practice Manager will offer clinical and operational leadership for the GIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) service line, as well as the broader scope of women’s health services at Nordic.

This position integrates patient consultations and clinical coordination with practice management duties to uphold efficient service delivery, outstanding patient experience, and operational excellence.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate robust clinical decision-making abilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the capacity to coordinate multidisciplinary processes in a high-velocity women’s health setting.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution. Develop and implement policies that enhance efficiency, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, streamline processes, and drive project milestones. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management to support informed decision-making. Maintain accountability for budget management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation while ensuring seamless communication across all levels of the organization.

Conducts comprehensive clinical evaluations, diagnoses, and implements treatment plans for assigned patients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based medical practices and institutional protocols. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care, optimize patient outcomes, and maintain accurate, detailed documentation in electronic health records. Perform in-depth patient consultations, comprehensive assessments, and follow-up evaluations for women experiencing fibroids and various gynecological conditions.

Assist in assessing and determining patient eligibility for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (GIFU) and alternative minimally invasive treatments.

Conduct a thorough review of imaging results, laboratory findings, and patient medical histories in coordination with consulting specialists.

Deliver comprehensive patient education and counseling services, detailing treatment options, anticipated outcomes, and recovery processes.

Facilitate the implementation and management of clinical care pathways both before and after procedures to ensure seamless patient care coordination and adherence to established protocols.

Ensure the precision and completeness of clinical documentation and electronic medical records at all times.

Engage in clinical audits, contribute to case discussions, and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

GIFU Service Support involves delivering expert assistance for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (GIFU) technology, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of GIFU equipment operations, troubleshooting capabilities, and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities include conducting maintenance, performing repairs, providing technical guidance to clients, and maintaining detailed service records. Candidates must possess a relevant technical background, certification in GIFU systems, and prior experience in medical device support. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning are essential to stay updated with advancements in GIFU technology.

Efficiently manage the scheduling and operational workflow for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (GIFU) procedures to ensure seamless execution.

Facilitate seamless collaboration and information exchange among physicians, nursing professionals, radiologic technologists, and administrative personnel to ensure cohesive operational workflows.

Oversee patient experience and maintain seamless continuity of care throughout the entire treatment process.

Aid in the monitoring and documentation of patient outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for analysis and decision-making purposes.

Responsible for managing and directing the ongoing operational activities of the clinic or service line on a daily basis.

Facilitate efficient patient throughput, schedule appointments effectively, and coordinate services seamlessly to maintain high-quality care delivery.

Assist in the execution of operational policies and clinical protocols.

Responsible for organizing and overseeing staff schedules while providing assistance with performance tracking as needed.

Oversee the tracking of inventory levels and manage the acquisition of clinical consumables and supplies.

Facilitate the coordination of billing processes, generate accurate reports, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational efficiency.

Assist in the execution of research projects by providing administrative, technical, or logistical support as needed. We are seeking a skilled professional to fill this pivotal role, requiring a comprehensive skill set and relevant experience. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years in a comparable position, along with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, as is a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and best practices. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are also required, along with the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience may be considered.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent medical qualification, along with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, is required.

A minimum of four years of clinical experience following the completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYC) is required.

Proficiency in women’s health, fertility, radiology, or minimally invasive procedures is beneficial, as is relevant practical experience.

Desirable candidates will have prior experience in healthcare operations or practice management.

Required competencies and essential skills include proficiency in relevant software applications, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
