Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) LTD/LTE, a leading global humanitarian and development organization, operates in over 50 countries worldwide, including Nigeria, to combat the root causes and consequences of hunger. Since its establishment in 2010, ACF Nigeria has provided critical interventions to address persistent food insecurity and malnutrition in Northeast Nigeria. The organization responds to acute humanitarian crises driven by insecurity, population displacement, natural disasters, climate variability, and economic instability.
ACF Nigeria, in collaboration with its partners BO WDI, YIP DI, Save the Children (SC), and EYE, has been spearheading the Empowering and Nurturing Resilience, Integration, and Community Health in Nigeria (ENRICH) program. Funded by the U.S. Department of State, this initiative has delivered critical lifesaving and recovery support to vulnerable populations in Born State, with a focus on Rubio, Maguire, Mobber, and Saga Local Government Areas (Gas). Over the past 24 months, the program has positively impacted the lives of approximately 714,045 individuals.
The primary goals of the projects are to achieve measurable outcomes in efficiency, innovation, and sustainability, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders to deliver high-impact results. These initiatives aim to address key challenges in the industry by implementing data-driven strategies and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity. The projects require a multidisciplinary approach, combining technical expertise with strong project management skills to ensure timely execution and adherence to budgetary constraints. Additionally, they seek to drive continuous improvement through rigorous performance evaluations and adaptive solutions that respond to evolving market demands.
Enhanced health and nutrition services are implemented to effectively lower both morbidity and mortality rates.
Strengthening household food security is achieved by delivering unconditional food or cash assistance during both lean and off-lean seasons to populations affected by conflict.
Integrated WASH initiatives are implemented to bolster household, community, and systemic resilience against shocks in Born.
Enhanced protection services are made accessible to impacted populations to foster community resilience.
Through the implementation of cross-sectoral approaches, ACF and its collaborators enhance food security, expand access to superior health and nutrition services, and foster resilience among at-risk communities. The organization’s primary objective is to bolster nutrition security, diminish mortality and morbidity rates—particularly among children under the age of five—and enable communities to achieve sustainable growth.
