JOB SUMMARY
The Head of Financial Control is tasked with maintaining the precision, reliability, and regulatory adherence of financial reporting while establishing and sustaining robust financial control mechanisms. Responsibilities include meticulously examining bank reconciliation statements and resolving any outstanding discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
Daily reconciliation of transactions posted into the General Ledger is performed to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Preparation of general ledgers for newly recorded transactions and bank accounts is required.
Ensure the prompt and accurate submission of all statutory returns and reports mandated by regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), among others.
Responsible for developing and distributing the annual budget, ensuring accurate allocation of financial resources across departments and projects. This includes monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and making necessary adjustments to maintain fiscal discipline. Additionally, requires collaboration with leadership to align budgetary decisions with strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with the compensation officer, internal control team, and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Facilitating communication with financial institutions regarding banking matters.
Attends a range of meetings, including management gatherings, credit evaluations, and other key discussions to ensure comprehensive participation and decision-making support.
Conduct credit appraisal evaluations and participate in multifaceted meetings to address general business purposes.
Depreciation and amortization calculations are performed to systematically allocate the cost of tangible and intangible assets over their useful lives.
The responsible individual will be tasked with compiling salary journals and ensuring their accurate posting to the general ledger. This role involves meticulous data entry and verification to maintain financial records in accordance with established accounting standards.
Reconciliation of bank books and records involves verifying prepayments, sundry creditors, sundry customers, and unpaid salaries to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the fixed assets register and schedule.
Responsibilities may also encompass additional tasks as determined by the Managing Director.
