Our esteemed client, a well-regarded hotel situated in the Amino Odin area of Lagos and Abuja, seeks the expertise of a highly skilled and seasoned Hotel Accountant and Head of Internal Audit. This individual will be tasked with overseeing and managing crucial financial operations and ensuring robust internal controls are in place to safeguard the organization’s assets and maintain the integrity of its financial reporting.
We are responsible for compiling monthly management accounts and either preparing or overseeing the daily revenue ledgers.
Compiling a comprehensive schedule of all statutory obligations and overseeing their timely remittance is essential.
Collaborate with management and the internal audit team to develop internal control procedures. Conduct thorough reviews of existing controls and provide management with recommendations for any required enhancements or modifications.
Verifies that all expenses remain within established budgetary constraints and obtains necessary approvals for expenditures.
We require a strong understanding of inventory management principles and will collaborate with colleagues to conduct monthly stocktaking and reconciliation processes while ensuring strict adherence to established inventory procedures.
Compiles or collaborates with other account officers to prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
Collaborate with the procurement department and store personnel to prepare payment schedules for all creditors, while also coordinating with the front desk manager to calculate receivables.
The ideal candidate should hold a minimum qualification of either an HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, complemented by ICAN or AAT certification, along with substantial relevant professional experience. Progression to an advanced stage in ICAN would be highly advantageous. Applicants with ICAN AAT2 or Foundation-level certification, paired with relevant years of experience, are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with at least one accounting software, is required.
This position is exclusively available to residents of Lagos, with a preference for candidates located within the Amino Odin area.
