This position will contribute to fostering environments where scientific breakthroughs and innovations can be effectively translated into sustainable improvements in public health, economic advancement, and stronger health systems throughout the region.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards. Conduct thorough evaluations of operational processes to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine strategic initiatives that align with long-term business objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating seamless communication and resolving escalated issues. Monitor performance metrics to track progress and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. Uphold compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Spearhead the development and execution of PATH’s health research and development (R&D) policy and advocacy initiatives, establishing a cohesive strategic vision for the regional portfolio while guaranteeing alignment with overarching goals, outstanding performance standards, and measurable impact.

Oversee program delivery and performance by monitoring work plans, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and reporting obligations to uphold effective management and accountability.

Forge and oversee strategic partnerships by cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with governments, regional bodies, multilateral organizations, academic institutions, civil society groups, donors, and private sector stakeholders—all to further collaborative health research and development objectives.

Strengthen partnerships with regional and continental stakeholders by actively collaborating with key organizations, including the African Union, AMA, Africa CDC, AUDI-NEPAD, and other relevant institutions, to advance priorities in health research, development, and innovation.

As a key representative of PATH, you will engage in strategic forums, playing an integral role in technical meetings, policy forums, working groups, and high-level convening that collectively influence Africa’s health innovation priorities.

Collaborate across PATH’s technical, policy, partnerships, and external affairs teams to ensure cohesive integration of R&D advocacy, technical, and programmatic priorities into unified strategies and deliverables.

Provide guidance in team management and mentorship as assigned, overseeing project teams, consultants, and partners to cultivate collaboration, continuous learning, inclusion, and career advancement.

Deliver strategic insights and cultivate knowledge growth by closely tracking emerging trends and opportunities—Scrutinize the evolving landscape of Africa’s health innovation ecosystem to shape strategy, foster partnerships, and develop advocacy and policy instruments, including tools, reports, analyses, presentations, and advocacy collateral that enhance policy participation and advance Africa’s health innovation agenda.
