Your role
The Infrastructure & Telecom Technician serves as a versatile professional, handling a broad spectrum of duties that include both preventive and corrective maintenance for critical systems—such as generator sets, HVAC units, and network infrastructure—as well as the enhancement of existing facilities and the deployment of new equipment. This role demands expertise in electrical systems (covering both DC and AC power), along with proficiency in installing and servicing telecom power solutions, generator sets, and climate control units. The technician operates with autonomy or collaborates within a team setting, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
Ensure, execute, and routinely assess preventive maintenance procedures for telecom points of presence to sustain operational reliability and performance standards.
Ensure all corrective maintenance tasks are executed efficiently, monitored diligently, and completed to the highest standards.
Develop and maintain a structured weekly plan detailing tasks and subsequent follow-ups to ensure timely completion and accountability.
Compile and submit regular weekly reports summarizing executed operations.
Install and set up equipment, including VCC, VAC, air conditioning systems, and generators, either with in-house teams or external contractors, while strictly following industry best practices to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Develop and organize structured interventions tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
Develop and implement interventions, including hardware, tools, and documentation.
Evaluate the constraints, risks, and viability of potential interventions to ensure informed decision-making and optimal outcomes.
Articulate the objectives and significance of interventions to stakeholders, ensuring clarity on intended outcomes and broader implications.
Adhere rigorously to all established safety protocols, aligning with GVA’s unwavering commitment to achieving zero accidents in workplace operations.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols by donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), clearly delineating intervention zones, and maintaining a safe distance from all electrical power sources, including both low and high voltage installations.
Enforce all applicable laws and regulatory standards within the operational jurisdiction without exception.
Adhere to GVA’s established internal protocols and procedures with diligence and consistency.
Prepare documentation to support the development of tender proposals for infrastructure projects.
Oversee the execution of GVA infrastructure initiatives and compile periodic progress updates.
Create and implement standardized procedures for managing GVA’s infrastructure.
Maintain readiness during scheduled on-call periods to oversee network operations and address critical incidents as they arise.
Execute all additional tasks delegated by management that fall within the designated scope of service.
Deliver all assigned tasks punctually in strict adherence to established timelines and project schedules.
Document and escalate any identified issues to senior management without delay.
Prepare activity reports and compile summary documents as required.
Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure accurate data analysis and documentation.
Ensure full adherence to the organization’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards and protocols.
Ensure strict compliance with the organization’s anti-corruption policies and procedures at all times.
