This role provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for all Heavy Earth Moving Machinery operations across quarry and mining sites. It guarantees optimal equipment availability, maximizes fleet productivity, enhances maintenance efficiency, maintains cost control, ensures safety compliance, and secures an uninterrupted supply of materials to production plants.

Formulate and execute a comprehensive HELM strategy across the organization, ensuring alignment with mining, quarrying, and production objectives.

Maximize efficiency by strategically adjusting the fleet size, composition, and deployment to meet the demands of all quarry operations.

To optimize productivity and operational efficiency, maintain peak performance and maximize the utilization of essential heavy machinery such as excavators, dump trucks, haul trucks, wheel loaders, bulldozers, and motor graders.

Enhance fleet availability, reliability, and productivity targets consistently across all operational sites.

Develop and formalize preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks to ensure consistency and reliability across operations.

Monitor equipment health monitoring systems while implementing measures to minimize breakdown frequency.

Conduct in-depth root cause analysis to identify underlying factors contributing to significant equipment failures, ensuring accurate and actionable insights are derived for resolution.

Strive to reduce maintenance expenditures calculated per operating hour and per ton transported to enhance operational efficiency.

Facilitate streamlined spare parts planning, optimize inventory management, and cultivate strategic vendor partnerships to ensure operational efficiency.

Draft, negotiate, and oversee comprehensive agreements with OEMs and critical service partners to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance refurbishment, rebuild, and lifecycle cost optimization initiatives.

Partner with mining and quarry operations to streamline overburden removal, limestone transportation, and material handling processes.

Ensure the fleet is aligned with mine plans, blasting schedules, and production targets.

Enhance cycle times, optimize loading efficiency, and improve haul road performance to maximize operational productivity and minimize downtime.

Spearhead the implementation and continuous enhancement of Fleet Management Systems and telematics solutions to maximize operational efficiency and performance.

Spearhead the implementation and utilization of GPS-based tracking solutions, predictive maintenance analytics, and real-time fleet performance dashboards to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.

Promote a robust safety culture throughout all HELM operations.

Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, operational guidelines, and environmental regulations governing equipment usage.

Oversee the capital budgeting and investment planning processes for newly acquired Helms, ensuring strategic alignment and financial feasibility.

Establish and implement comprehensive asset lifecycle management policies, ensuring seamless oversight from initial acquisition through to final disposal.

Assess innovative technologies, particularly those in electric and low-emission equipment categories.

Develop and oversee a top-tier engineering and maintenance team for Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HELM) across various operational sites.

Enhance technical expertise by completing structured training initiatives and obtaining relevant certifications.

Monitor fleet performance metrics across all locations, providing consistent updates to senior leadership regarding operational efficiency, expenditures, and potential risks associated with fleet activities.

Proficiency in overseeing multi-site or multi-country operations is highly desirable.

Seasoned professionals with extensive hands-on experience in Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HELM) operations and maintenance are essential.

Proven expertise in quarry and mining logistics, coupled with extensive knowledge in material handling systems and processes.
