A six-month initial contract with the possibility of renewal for an additional six months is offered.

We are looking for a skilled ESG Researcher to contribute to a joint Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessment focused on Nigeria’s oil sector.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational excellence. Assume accountability for critical tasks including strategic planning, process optimization, and performance monitoring to drive measurable outcomes. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. Act as a key liaison to senior leadership, providing timely updates, data-driven insights, and recommendations to support informed decision-making. Maintain rigorous adherence to compliance standards, risk management protocols, and ethical guidelines while delivering consistent results. Additionally, mentor team members through coaching and feedback, empowering them to achieve both individual and collective goals.

Perform comprehensive research and analyze data pertaining to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors to derive actionable insights and support informed decision-making.

Analyze industry reports, policies, and pertinent literature to extract key insights and trends.

Produce comprehensive research reports, concise briefs, and polished presentations of the highest quality.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement and ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.

Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Proficiency in project management software and strong organizational skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment. A proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities simultaneously is required. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is a must. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with certifications or advanced training in the field.

A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, Sustainability, or a closely related field is required.

Demonstrated expertise in executing ESG, sustainability, governance, or policy research within the Nigerian context is required.

Proficiency in the Nigerian oil and gas industry is essential.

Proven expertise in conducting thorough research, performing detailed analysis, and producing well-structured written reports.

A strong capacity for autonomous work and a consistent track record of fulfilling deadlines in a timely manner are required.
