Job Summary:
The Structural/Site Engineer is tasked with designing, analyzing, and overseeing the structural components of construction projects, as well as managing daily site operations to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols. This position involves supervising personnel and subcontractors, allocating resources efficiently, addressing site-related challenges, and facilitating communication between the project manager and on-site personnel to guarantee timely and budget-conscious project execution.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives that enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive sustainable growth. Analyze key performance indicators to assess progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Develop and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to track outcomes, provide data-driven insights, and support informed decision-making across all levels of the organization. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous development.
Prepare comprehensive structural drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Refit, or comparable software applications.
Interpret architectural designs and translate them into structural blueprints.
Maintain adherence to applicable local building codes, safety protocols, and structural requirements. Engage with architects, MEP engineers, and other specialized consultants to create cohesive design solutions.
Oversee on-site construction operations to guarantee compliance with design requirements and established safety protocols.
Collaborate with subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to facilitate seamless progress across all project phases.
Monitor project advancement and compile comprehensive daily and weekly site reports to ensure accurate documentation of activities and progress.
You will collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and trades people to uphold project timelines, address technical challenges, and enhance operational efficiency.
Perform thorough site inspections and comprehensive quality control assessments to ensure structural integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
Deliver expert technical direction to field teams and address engineering challenges with precision.
Maintain adherence to all relevant local building codes, HSE standards, and applicable regulatory requirements consistently throughout all operations.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates expertise in relevant technical tools, methodologies, and systems pertinent to the role, ensuring effective execution of assigned tasks. Familiarity with industry-standard software, programming languages, platforms, and frameworks is essential.
Proven expertise in structural design software including STABS, STAND Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, ProtaStructure, or comparable platforms is required.
Proficient in structural detailing and possesses advanced expertise in AutoCAD.
Proficiency in Refit, Civil 3D, or other BIM software is advantageous.
Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of engineering codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements governing construction practices.
Proficient in creating and analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports is essential.

Education: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. Candidates with advanced degrees, such as a Master’s or Ph.D., are strongly preferred. Relevant professional certifications or licenses are advantageous.
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, alongside a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, or a comparable discipline. Candidates should possess strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, as well as expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, collaborative teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in structural design and site supervision.
Membership or registration with relevant professional bodies such as Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria or NSE.
Experience in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Having a background in project management would be advantageous for this role.
