You will oversee the daily Maintenance and Repair (M&R) operations for assigned vessels, ensuring adherence to established timelines and budgetary constraints to uphold technical reliability and optimize fleet utilization.
You will be responsible for overseeing key operational tasks, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy in all processes. Coordinate and manage ongoing maintenance operations (primarily preventive in nature) aboard the vessels to uphold their technical integrity, ensuring continuous operational reliability and minimizing the risk of downtime or off-hire incidents.
Oversee, mentor, and provide guidance to chief engineers aboard company vessels to ensure adherence to the organization’s technical management standards.
Perform repairs and oversee both the crew and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the established plan, budget, and quality benchmarks.
Responsible for accurately allocating costs associated with the vessel’s repair and maintenance activities, as well as dockings, damages, and modifications.

Requirements
To qualify for the role of Technical Superintendent in Nigeria, candidates must possess the following:
Seeking a candidate with a proven track record in a technical superintendent or technical management role within a comparable organization.
Higher secondary vocational education or an equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or a related field is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience as a Chief Engineer aboard offshore support vessels.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of seven years of proven expertise in the capacity of a technical superintendent, port engineer, or technical manager.
Command of both spoken and written English is required.

Extra information:
As a member of AfrikDelta Marine Ltd’s Fleet Management Department—a fully owned operational unit under Smit Lamnalco—you will collaborate with a team of around 10 professionals while reporting directly to the Regional Fleet Manager.
You will be stationed in One, located near Port Harcourt, following an alternating eight-week schedule and may occasionally need to travel for work-related purposes.
The technical superintendent role is a full-time position, with working hours subject to adjustment based on operational needs.
