Prepare monthly withholding tax returns (covering Federal and all applicable States) for all PA entities and Strategic Business Units (Bus) in Nigeria. This involves generating and spooling monthly reports, validating the correct tax rates, allocating transactions to the appropriate tax jurisdictions, reconciling the withholding tax report with ledger balances, and processing payments—all within a strict seven-day deadline.

Review the withholding tax reports for entities or strategic business units (Bus) operating within Nigeria to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.

Monthly VAT reports and ledgers for all entities are prepared, with a focus on generating these documents for PA Bus specifically in Nigeria.

Process all monthly tax payments as well as final demand notice liabilities and other undisputed tax obligations promptly and accurately.

Draft preliminary responses to inquiries, notices, and other communications received from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and state revenue boards.

Prepare and submit VAT Returns for all entities to the FIRS by the 21st day of each month.

Annually, secure tax clearance certificates for each of the seven entities.

Handle all incoming communications from tax authorities, ensuring accurate logging and documentation of each item for future reference and compliance purposes.

Ensure the correspondence tracker is maintained to guarantee timely filing of all responses within the designated deadlines.

Conduct initial assessments of tax computations for PA Kenya and PA Ghana, while also delivering assistance on various tax-related matters in Kenya and Ghana, such as tax audits and refund claims.

Conduct comprehensive trend analyses, develop insightful presentation materials, and produce accurate forecasts to support strategic tax planning and budgeting initiatives.

Perform thorough verification of credit notes issued to B2B customers to ensure accuracy in transactions and compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.

Facilitate the settlement of all monthly tax obligations, final demand notices, and other undisputed tax liabilities in a timely and accurate manner.

Draft preliminary replies to inquiries, notices of demand, and other communications received from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as well as state revenue boards.

Prepare and submit VAT Returns for all entities to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) no later than the 21st day of each month.

Annually, secure tax clearance certificates for all seven entities by submitting the required applications and fulfilling all compliance obligations.

Handle all incoming communications from tax authorities, maintaining detailed records of each item received.

Ensure the correspondence tracker is consistently updated so that all responses are documented within the designated timeframes.

Seeking candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, along with proficiency in project management software and strong analytical skills. The ideal applicant will demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, and a proven track record in leading cross-functional teams. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards is required, as is the capacity to adapt to evolving project demands. Preferred qualifications include experience in budgeting and resource allocation, as well as a certification in a specialized area of project management.

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting is required.

ICAN, ARCA, or CITY certification is required for this role. Candidates must hold at least one of these professional qualifications to be considered eligible for the position.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, is essential.

Technical/Professional Experience:

4–5 years of pertinent experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in an FMCG or multinational setting.

Proficiency in Nigerian tax legislation and regulatory frameworks, encompassing Companies Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, Transfer Pricing, and additional statutory compliance obligations, is essential.

Possesses a solid grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax accounting methodologies.

Demonstrated expertise in leveraging SAP accounting software to perform tax reporting, conduct reconciliations, review ledgers, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance adherence.
