Purpose of the Role

The NEWS Reporter serves a critical function within the WANED Alert and Response Mechanism (WARM), responsible for gathering, validating, and disseminating precise and timely data as part of the National Early Warning System (NEWS).

The role facilitates conflict prevention, peace building, and accountability efforts by converting community-level insights into timely, actionable early warning alerts.

The core responsibilities of this role include overseeing key operational tasks, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high standards of performance. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide guidance to junior staff, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives. Collect and verify data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.

Compile data from community monitors and various other sources to gather comprehensive information.

Assess the reliability of reports to prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure the authenticity of alerts.

Verify that all data is accurate, complete, and provided in a timely manner.

Conduct comprehensive reporting and analysis to deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Prepare detailed financial and operational reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards. Analyze trends, variances, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and strategic growth.
