Job Summary

The Risk Analyst will support the Head of ERM & Control in fulfilling both strategic and operational responsibilities related to risk management across Total Health Trust, with occasional collaboration required with other entities within the Tangerine group.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to meet established goals and deadlines. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth. Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices to uphold organizational integrity and reputation.

Overseeing governance-related activities forms a core aspect of this role, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring governance frameworks, as well as facilitating board meetings, stakeholder engagement, and compliance reporting. The position demands a deep understanding of corporate governance principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to align governance practices with strategic objectives.

You will contribute to the creation, oversight, and reporting of the Risk Management Framework and associated policies under the guidance of the Head of ERM & Control.

Monitor emerging issues and evolving risks within the organization by assisting in the daily processes designed to alert management promptly.

Provide assistance to the Head of ERM & Control in crafting and executing policies focused on risk management.

Enhance existing processes to proactively identify, evaluate (through both qualitative and quantitative methods), mitigate, and continuously monitor risks associated with all relevant policies.

Monitor action plans to detect any delays or incomplete mitigation efforts by business units.

Assists with various supplementary tasks as needed to ensure smooth operational flow and support team objectives. Engages in additional projects and responsibilities to enhance productivity and contribute to overall organizational success. Performs ad hoc duties that align with departmental goals and may include coordination, documentation, or other administrative functions. Demonstrates adaptability and willingness to undertake diverse assignments to meet evolving business needs.

Support the Head of ERM & Control in establishing the Risk Appetite Framework by defining tolerance levels, escalation thresholds, and monitoring liquidity risk, while ensuring alignment with the investment portfolio strategy.

Supervise the reporting of losses submitted by Champions and correspondents, while ensuring that remediation actions are tracked and followed through.

Support process owners in conducting Business Impact Analysis (BIA) by assisting with the development, review, and implementation of the BIA process. Maintain consistency and secure approval of BIA questionnaires while compiling a consolidated BIA report for endorsement by the BCM Sponsor and the Head of ERM & Control.

Support operational resilience initiatives by collaborating with the Head of ERM and Control to ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) align with approved strategies, conduct thorough testing of BCPs, and execute the Crisis Communication Plan in accordance with the established Operational Resilience Policy.

Devise and implement strategies to bolster crisis management capabilities, guaranteeing preparedness and rapid response to potential disruptions.

Support the development and ongoing tracking of the Key Risk Indicators (KAI) dashboard to deliver timely early warnings.

Support the Head of ERM & Control by assisting in the development and review of models, ensuring alignment with established standards and objectives.

Perform thorough risk assessments across all business units to detect and evaluate emerging risks systematically.

Ensure that risks are accurately categorized and prioritized in alignment with the organization’s defined risk appetite and strategic business objectives.

Conduct training sessions designed to heighten risk awareness and foster a culture of risk consciousness throughout the organization.

Provide guidance to Champions and stakeholders regarding risk-related processes and tools to ensure alignment and comprehension.

Perform in-depth evaluations of potential risks within various business units to proactively detect emerging threats.

Supervise the incident management framework to guarantee that incidents are logged, analyzed, and resolved in a timely manner.

Perform comprehensive root cause analyses on critical incidents and propose proactive measures to prevent recurrence.

Partner with various business units to develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing risk exposure while ensuring ongoing oversight of mitigation efforts.

Assist the Head of ERM & Control in fostering innovation within risk management through the strategic application of technology and data analytics.

Assist the Head of ERM & Control in evaluating the organization’s risk management practices by benchmarking them against industry standards and best practices.

Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, promptly escalating any identified concerns where necessary.

Support the Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Control in organizing and executing stress tests and scenario analyses to assess the resilience of the organization during challenging circumstances.

Provide assistance to the Head of ERM & Control in the facilitation and advancement of additional control-related initiatives.

Monitoring and reporting activities encompass the systematic observation, tracking, and documentation of performance metrics, operational progress, and key indicators to ensure transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making within the organization. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and presenting accurate and timely information to stakeholders, facilitating informed strategies and identifying trends or areas requiring intervention. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in data management tools, and the ability to communicate insights effectively are essential for success in this function.

Action Plan Reporting entails the submission of monthly progress reports concerning action plans issued by the first line to the Head of ERM & Control.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Lead the annual BIA process across all teams and compile comprehensive findings to assess critical functions and dependencies.

Prepare quarterly risk reports and consolidate findings for comprehensive risk assessment.

Quarterly oversight and reporting of risk appetite form a critical component of this role, ensuring ongoing alignment with established risk tolerance thresholds and strategic objectives.

Conduct quarterly assessments of liquidity and investment portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Additionally, undertake any supplementary responsibilities delegated by the Head of ERM & Control within the ERM & Control team.

Minimum education requirement includes a relevant four-year degree, with a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline preferred. Candidates must possess at least three years of hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, or auditing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems are essential. Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines are critical. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory to convey complex financial information clearly.

Familiarity with the financial services sector or experience within the HMO industry would be beneficial.

Professional Rewriting:
