The Head of Procurement and Inventory Management oversees the strategic development and enhancement of procurement operations alongside inventory control systems. This role involves implementing efficient processes to streamline purchasing activities and maintain optimal stock levels.
The incumbent will oversee cost-efficient procurement strategies, manage inventory levels to meet operational needs, and contribute to the achievement of the institution’s financial goals. This role involves executing key duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Craft and execute a thorough procurement strategy that aligns with the institution’s objectives.
Evaluate potential avenues for reducing expenditures, enhancing operational efficiencies, and implementing eco-friendly procurement strategies.
Develop and sustain strong partnerships with suppliers, engaging in strategic negotiations to secure advantageous terms while systematically evaluating vendor performance through regular assessments.
Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, from requisition through to delivery, while ensuring adherence to applicable policies and regulatory standards. Additionally, introduce and enforce industry-leading procurement methodologies, and, where relevant, integrate e-procurement technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Monitor and assess inventory turnover to pinpoint slow-moving or obsolete stock, implementing strategies to address these issues and enhance stock levels. Develop and execute optimized inventory management methods to ensure efficiency and maintain ideal stock quantities.
Partner with finance teams to establish and oversee procurement budgets, guaranteeing that procurement initiatives remain within approved financial parameters and support broader financial objectives.
Identify and assess potential procurement-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to address them, ensuring that all procurement activities fully adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
Guide and develop procurement team members and inventory management specialists, promoting a collaborative and goal-driven team environment.
Create and oversee procurement and inventory performance metrics, then prepare and deliver routine reports for senior management, emphasizing critical performance indicators.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics. A minimum of three years of professional experience in software development or a related area is required. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ is essential. Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time are necessary.
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable discipline is required.
With a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, including at least three years in a leadership role, this position requires demonstrated expertise and proven management capabilities.
Proficiency in procurement regulations, industry best practices, and evolving market trends is required.
Proven proficiency in utilizing procurement software and inventory management systems is required.
