This role entails conducting thorough inspections, rigorous testing, ongoing maintenance, and certification of Pressure Safety Valves across upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities, ensuring adherence to DPR/NU PRC regulations, API standards, and the company’s HSE policies. Requires proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with a strong commitment to preventive maintenance schedules and adherence to regulatory standards.
Professionals will disassemble components, sanitize surfaces, and polish valve seats before installing new springs, bellows, and O-rings on Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Laser, and Harris brand valves.
Execute urgent repairs promptly during unexpected shutdowns to prevent incurring flaring penalties.
The position entails conducting rigorous testing procedures and ensuring products meet certification standards before market release. Responsibilities include designing and executing test plans, analyzing results, documenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address any issues. Candidates should possess a degree in engineering or a related field, hands-on experience with testing methodologies, and familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in data analysis tools and strong problem-solving skills are essential, along with effective communication abilities to report outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
Conduct statutory Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) testing and recertification at intervals prescribed by NU PRC Guidelines and API 576 standards—generally within a 12- to 36-month timeframe, contingent upon service conditions.
Perform bench testing and on-site evaluations employing deadweight testers and portable pop testers across FPS Os, flow stations, refineries, and gas processing facilities.
We are responsible for stamping and issuing PSV certification tags that meet the standards set by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NU PRC) and are also recognized by third-party inspectors.
The role involves ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards alongside regulatory compliance within the organization. Responsibilities include monitoring and enforcing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment. The position requires thorough knowledge of industry-specific regulations, strong analytical skills to assess potential hazards, and the ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs. Additionally, the role demands proficiency in conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments, as well as compiling and submitting required reports to regulatory bodies. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, provide training on safety protocols, and foster a culture of compliance across all levels of the organization.
Ensure full adherence to the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Safety Regulations of 1997 and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NAGPRA) standards at all times.
Prepare and finalize all necessary Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Toolbox Talk documentation prior to commencing any work activity.
Profile
A minimum of an ND or HND in Mechanical Engineering from a polytechnic accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NOTE) is required. For IOC positions, a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree is preferred.
API certification in either API 510 or API 570 is required, with additional offshore qualifications including SOVIET and DUET training mandated. Holding a CORE registration is considered beneficial but not compulsory.
Individuals applying for this role should possess a minimum of eight to ten years of relevant experience within the oil and gas sector, including at least six years specifically dedicated to PSV (pressure safety valve) maintenance. Prior hands-on experience with Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FASO) or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) operations is considered advantageous.
