The ideal candidates will assist the Finance and Accounts Department by handling financial documentation, processing transactions, performing reconciliations, supporting receivables and payables, ensuring statutory compliance, and preparing basic financial reports.
This position is designed for early-career professionals who possess a solid academic foundation in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field, with up to three years of hands-on experience in the relevant domain. The preferred applicant will demonstrate strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, numerical proficiency, a proactive approach to learning, and the capability to handle financial data with precision and discretion.
Responsible for executing a range of key duties to support the team’s objectives, including overseeing project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, and maintaining high standards of quality in deliverables. Acts as a liaison between departments to facilitate smooth communication and align project goals with organizational priorities. Conducts thorough reviews to identify potential risks, mitigates obstacles through proactive problem-solving, and implements efficient workflows to maximize productivity. Assists in the development of strategic plans, monitors progress toward targets, and provides detailed reports to leadership to inform decision-making. Demonstrates strong leadership in guiding team members, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Assist in compiling, verifying, and submitting invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, journals, and additional financial documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
Under the guidance of senior personnel, support the recording of financial transactions within the accounting software.
Provide support for bank, customer, vendor, and general ledger reconciliation processes.
Provide support in monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to ensure accurate financial tracking.
Provide assistance with the compilation and handling of payments, expense claims, reimbursements, and retirements. Ensure accurate documentation and organization of financial records for audits, reporting, and future reference. Contribute to the development of weekly, monthly, and periodic financial reports.
Prepare and maintain tax and statutory compliance documentation, such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, pension contributions, and other applicable deductions, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is necessary. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential. Candidates must possess at least three years of experience in software development or a comparable role. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking are required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are a must. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is preferred. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
Earned a Second Class Upper Division degree or higher in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
A minimum of three years of professional experience in finance, accounting, auditing, banking, consulting, or a closely related discipline is required.
Proficiency in accounting principles, financial processes, and reconciliation is essential.
Strong proficiency in numerical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving is essential.
Demonstrates meticulousness and a commitment to precision in all tasks undertaken.
Demonstrates advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient in analyzing numerical data, preparing reports, maintaining financial records, and verifying supporting documentation.
Professional certification, including ICAN, ARCA, ACA, or equivalent qualifications, will be considered a valuable asset.
