Job Summary

The Research Associate (RA) will assume responsibility for overseeing data collection and management initiatives for research projects conducted within the Nigeria Country Office, reporting to the Research Manager.

The Research Associate will oversee project field staff, comprising field managers, supervisors, and enumerators, with a primary focus on ensuring the timely submission of deliverables to donors and partners.

The Research Associate will oversee a broad range of responsibilities encompassing the planning, execution, and oversight of daily research operations, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the integrity and accuracy of research data. This role involves coordinating and managing research activities from initial conception through implementation, while maintaining rigorous quality standards throughout the process. Key duties will include, but may not be limited to:

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and drive sustainable growth. Maintain strict adherence to compliance protocols, quality assurance measures, and regulatory requirements. Prepare detailed reports, analyze performance metrics, and present actionable insights to senior leadership. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development among team members. Manage resources effectively, including budget allocation, personnel development, and technology optimization.

Project management involves overseeing and coordinating projects from initiation through completion to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specified requirements. This role demands strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines. Responsibilities include defining project scopes, developing comprehensive plans, allocating resources effectively, and mitigating potential risks to maintain smooth progress. Additionally, the position requires effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, team members, and other departments to align objectives and resolve issues promptly. Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques is essential, along with the capacity to adapt to evolving project needs and deliver high-quality results consistently.

Experienced professionals are required to develop survey instruments using Survey CTO, ensuring adherence to established programming best practices throughout the process.

Ensuring the integrity and excellence of data collection through vigilant oversight and management is a key responsibility.

Data quality validation and correction of discrepancies in the datasets obtained through the collection process are required.

Responsibilities include overseeing project financials, such as developing and maintaining budgets, monitoring expenditures, and preparing accurate financial reports to ensure fiscal accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensuring the continuous maintenance and accuracy of data through regular updates and verification processes.

Engage in strategic collaboration with partners to foster mutually beneficial relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Identify and pursue opportunities for joint initiatives, enhancing value creation for both parties. Maintain regular communication and coordination to address partner needs, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in partnership performance. Evaluate partner contributions and provide feedback to support their growth and effectiveness in the partnership.

Managing routine communications with Principal Investigators (PI’s) and external partners forms a critical component of this role.

Ensuring prompt communication and follow-ups with partner organizations while actively engaging in meetings with crucial stakeholders.

The Research Manager must ensure all project developments are promptly communicated and act as the primary liaison between field staff, the research team, and Principal Investigators.

Technical Leadership: Guiding and overseeing the technical direction of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices while fostering innovation and collaboration among engineering teams.

Develop training resources and coordinate with the survey firm to facilitate enumerator training sessions and pilot testing of survey instruments.

Ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures by all team members across the team.

Consistently provide the Research Manager with timely progress reports on project developments.

Delivering comprehensive training and offering ongoing supervision to research project staff members.

Assisting the country office with project and policy development as required.

Conducting in-depth data analysis and generating comprehensive reports to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.

Providing support for initial data assessments and maintaining seamless accessibility to all relevant information for researchers.

Detailed documentation of every aspect of project-related activities is required.

Ensuring precise documentation of interviews while upholding the confidentiality of subjects as required.

Crafting comprehensive progress and results reports for Principal Investigators, research collaborators, and funding agencies, and ensuring their timely distribution.

Developing and creating dissemination materials, which include presentations, final reports, and evidence briefs, is a key responsibility of this role.

Additionally, various duties may be delegated by the Research Manager as necessary.

We seek a highly motivated candidate with a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience to join our dynamic team.
