ABOUT THE JOB
The ASH Assistant position at Ekklesiyar An’UWA a Nigeria (EYE) is a field-focused role dedicated to expanding access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, specifically in Polka, Gaza L.G.A, Born State. The role encompasses improving service accessibility, reinforcing referral pathways for adolescent care, and strengthening the capabilities of partners and staff on gender-based violence (GBV) and ASH issues to advance youth health outcomes.
LOCATION: PULKA
Oversee the execution of all primary duties and obligations associated with the position, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Facilitate the coordination of tasks, projects, and processes to maintain efficiency and productivity. Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and implement corrective measures when necessary to uphold performance benchmarks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster communication, streamline workflows, and address any challenges that may arise. Serve as a key liaison to senior leadership, providing strategic insights, progress reports, and recommendations to support informed decision-making. Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to compliance protocols, and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
The ASH Assistant will oversee all duties outlined below, as well as any additional responsibilities that naturally arise from the position’s core functions.
Facilitate both group-based educational workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions focused on sexual and reproductive health services.
Convene thorough sexuality education workshops and parent group meetings for adolescents alongside their caregivers.
Deliver expert instruction during educational sessions tailored for Community Health volunteers, focusing specifically on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health services.
Conduct safe motherhood sessions specifically tailored to the needs of pregnant adolescents, ensuring comprehensive care and support throughout the pregnancy journey.
Revise all applicable ASH IEC materials to align with program facility standards, and oversee the reprinting of essential ASH publications to facilitate effective dissemination.
Take an active role in coordinating and supporting community-based sensitization initiatives focused on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health services.
Organize campaigns related to ASRH
To facilitate a community dialogue meeting, engage religious and community leaders to introduce adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASH) services and youth-friendly corners, while securing their endorsement and support.
During health coordination meetings, deliver detailed updates on project progress and program-related data to stakeholders.
Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly activity reports on a consistent basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline, is required. A minimum of five years of professional experience in a comparable role is essential. Proficiency in industry-standard software, tools, and methodologies is mandatory. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical for success in this position. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines consistently. Familiarity with project management frameworks and regulatory compliance standards is highly desirable.
A diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant scientific discipline or the field of Public Health is required.
Experienced professionals with at least two years of practical involvement in designing and executing Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) programs, particularly in emergency settings, are sought.
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
