The Regulatory Manager oversees the comprehensive regulatory compliance of Slam Agra’s wheat milling and pasta products, covering all aspects from manufacturing and sourcing to import/export, labeling, and commercialization. Serving as the primary regulatory liaison, the position bridges internal teams—Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Sales—with external regulatory bodies, mitigating risks proactively while fostering business expansion.

Key Deliverables

Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and upholds governance standards across all operations. Develops and implements compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure organizational alignment with legal and industry obligations. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish policies and procedures that reinforce compliance integrity. Monitors changes in regulations to proactively adapt internal controls and maintain operational excellence. Provides guidance and training to foster a culture of compliance awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

Ensure strict adherence to all applicable animal feed regulations at local, regional, and international levels, including those established by Nigeria NAFDAC, SON, EC, FDA, Codex, GMP+, and FAMINES.

Interpret both new and existing regulations that pertain to wheat milling as well as the ingredients, additives, and premixes used in pasta production.

Design, execute, and oversee regulatory compliance frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal policies to ensure alignment with applicable laws and organizational standards.

Responsible for overseeing the registration and approval processes for products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. Duties include preparing and submitting documentation, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and maintaining accurate records of submissions and approvals. Requires a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency in relevant software and tools, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills, are essential for success in this role.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of product registrations, licenses, and renewals specifically for wheat milling and pasta products, as well as their raw materials.

Prepare and manage regulatory submissions, dossiers, technical documentation, and certificates in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements.

Oversee the approval process for ingredients and ensure compliance of feed additives with regulatory standards, while also monitoring permissible usage levels.

Verify adherence to applicable certifications, including ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

Deliver comprehensive regulatory training programs to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance awareness and understanding.

Engage in relevant professional organizations and conferences, such as MAN and AF BTE, as required.

Ensuring continuous awareness of evolving regulatory standards and requirements at both national and international levels.

Performing comprehensive regulatory risk evaluations and devising corresponding mitigation measures.

Oversee the processing of electronic submissions through government applications such as Nepal and NAPALMS.

Ensure timely issuance of certificates by actively coordinating and following up with regulatory agencies throughout their review processes.

Responsibilities include overseeing product registrations and ensuring timely renewals are completed.

Ensure strict adherence to labeling and packaging regulations and standards throughout all processes.

Oversee the organization and upkeep of all regulatory files and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Research & Development, Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering, to facilitate the timely resolution of feedback.

Interpret and convey all applicable regulatory mandates to internal teams to ensure compliance and operational alignment.

Engage in discussions with regulatory bodies to address and resolve any arising concerns or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with established standards and requirements.

Conduct internal audits and quality inspections to ensure adherence to established standards and protocols.

Develop and execute corrective actions along with preventive measures to ensure sustained improvement and mitigate potential risks.

We seek a candidate possessing a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data are essential. Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively across teams. Additionally, the ideal applicant will demonstrate problem-solving acumen, adaptability to evolving priorities, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related field is required.

A master’s degree or relevant professional certification is considered beneficial.

Experience

With a minimum of five to seven years of hands-on experience in regulatory or quality/regulatory roles within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), food, or agricultural commodities sectors, candidates will demonstrate a strong track record in navigating complex compliance landscapes.

Requires in-depth knowledge of feed regulations, additives, labeling protocols, and import/export requirements.

Professional experience in manufacturing plant operations and navigating complex, multinational regulatory frameworks is required.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in multinational corporations or within the commodity and agribusiness sectors.
