The Regulatory Manager ensures Slam Agra’s wheat milling and pasta products meet all regulatory requirements throughout manufacturing, sourcing, import/export, labeling, and commercialization. This position serves as the primary regulatory liaison between internal teams—such as Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Sales—and external regulatory bodies, identifying and mitigating compliance risks while fostering sustainable business expansion.

Key Deliverables

Ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while maintaining robust governance frameworks to mitigate operational risks and uphold organizational integrity. This role involves monitoring regulatory changes, interpreting their implications, and implementing necessary adjustments to policies and procedures. Additionally, it requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to enforce compliance standards, conduct audits, and provide guidance on governance best practices. The position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex requirements clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, risk management principles, and compliance frameworks is essential for success in this role.

Ensure strict adherence to all applicable animal feed regulations at the local, regional, and international levels, including those set by Nigeria NAFDAC, SON, EC, FDA, Codex, GMP+, and FAMINES.

Deliver detailed analysis and insightful interpretation of both emerging and established regulations that govern wheat milling processes as well as the sourcing, handling, and utilization of pasta ingredients, additives, and premixes.

Create, execute, and sustain regulatory compliance frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal policies to ensure adherence to applicable laws and organizational standards.

We facilitate the registration and approval of products, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements. This involves preparing and submitting necessary documentation, liaising with regulatory bodies, and coordinating with internal teams to streamline the approval process. Additionally, we monitor updates to regulations, track submission timelines, and maintain accurate records to support ongoing compliance and future submissions.

Oversee the management of product registrations, licenses, and renewal processes for wheat milling and pasta products, as well as related raw materials.

Oversee the preparation and management of regulatory submissions, dossiers, technical documentation, and certificates to ensure compliance with applicable standards and timelines.

Oversee the approval process for ingredients, ensure compliance of feed additives, and monitor permissible usage levels.

Maintain adherence to applicable certifications, including ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

Deliver comprehensive regulatory training sessions to internal stakeholders to ensure full awareness of applicable compliance requirements and organizational policies.

Engage in relevant professional organizations and conferences as required, such as those hosted by the Manufacturing Association of Nigeria (MAN) or the Association for Business and Technical Education (AF BTE).

Ensuring ongoing awareness of evolving regulatory standards and compliance obligations at both national and international levels.

Strategic Effectiveness encompasses the development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives to optimize organizational performance and drive sustainable growth. This role requires a keen ability to analyze market trends, assess competitive landscapes, and align business strategies with long-term objectives. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive data-driven research, identifying key performance gaps, and recommending actionable solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a proven track record in strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency in advanced analytics tools, financial modeling, and industry-specific software is essential for success in this position.

Performing comprehensive regulatory risk evaluations and devising effective mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and minimize potential exposures.

Oversee electronic submissions through government applications such as Nepal and NAPALMS.

Coordinate with regulatory agencies throughout the review process to facilitate the prompt issuance of certificates.

Oversee the registration and renewal processes for products.

Ensure that all labeling and packaging adhere to established compliance standards and regulations.

Ensure the organization of regulatory files and documentation in compliance with applicable standards and requirements.

Collaborate with diverse departments, including Research & Development, Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering, to expedite the resolution of feedback and facilitate its timely completion.

Interpret and convey regulatory mandates to relevant internal parties with clarity and precision.

Liaise with regulatory bodies to address and resolve any issues that arise during the compliance process.

Play an active role in conducting internal audits and quality inspections as part of the organization’s compliance and process improvement initiatives.

Execute corrective actions and establish preventive measures to ensure sustained compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related field is required.

A master’s degree or relevant professional certification is considered a beneficial qualification.

With relevant experience in the field, you possess a strong foundation of practical knowledge and expertise gained through hands-on involvement in similar roles or industries. Your professional background demonstrates a proven track record of successfully executing tasks and overcoming challenges within your area of specialization. This experience equips you with the ability to navigate complex situations, deliver measurable results, and contribute meaningfully to organizational objectives.

Requires a minimum of five to seven years of hands-on regulatory or quality/regulatory expertise within the fast-moving consumer goods, food production, or agricultural commodities sectors.

Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of feed regulations, additives, labeling requirements, and import/export protocols.

Professional candidates will possess hands-on experience collaborating with manufacturing facilities and navigating complex, multinational regulatory environments.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in large multinational corporations or within commodity and agribusiness sectors.
