Job Summary
A proactive and seasoned Purchase Officer is required to strengthen our team in Isopoda, Lagos.
The successful applicant will oversee the procurement of steel raw materials and consumables, cultivate and maintain strong supplier partnerships, and ensure procurement activities are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with production schedules.
Oversee critical operational duties, ensuring adherence to established protocols and maintaining high standards of performance across all assigned tasks. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall team effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement in processes. Monitor progress through data-driven insights, identifying trends and implementing corrective measures as needed to meet organizational goals. Proactively identify and secure high-quality steel raw materials such as angles, channels, pipes, plates, and fasteners to meet production and project demands.
Skilled in sourcing and utilizing various fabrication and production materials, the ideal candidate will manage the procurement, preparation, and application of essential resources to support manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include evaluating material quality, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing inventory levels to meet production demands while adhering to budget constraints and industry standards.
Acquire necessary operational supplies essential for production processes.
Review material specifications to ensure they meet established production and engineering standards.
Procure quotes, engage in strategic negotiations to finalize pricing, and establish advantageous procurement terms with suppliers.
Foster enduring partnerships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring reliable collaboration and mutual growth.
To stay informed of market trends, pricing variations, and supplier performance, regular analysis is essential.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
Collaborate effectively with store, production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to guarantee the on-time availability of materials.
Adhere to established procurement policies and procedures set forth by the organization while maintaining a focus on achieving cost optimization.
Monitor purchase orders meticulously and verify the punctual arrival of requisite materials.

Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, Engineering, or a related field is required.
A minimum of three to seven years of experience in procurement, with a preference for roles within the steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial sectors, is required.
Demonstrates extensive expertise in procuring steel raw materials and industrial consumables.
Extensive knowledge of the Nigerian steel market landscape, including key industry players and established supplier relationships, is essential.
Skilled in negotiating effectively and managing vendor relationships proficiently.
Demonstrates exceptional analytical thinking and adeptness in resolving complex problems efficiently.
Possesses a solid grasp of inventory management and procurement methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems is advantageous.
Preferred Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a senior-level or management role is required.
