The Associate will offer technical assistance to the programs team for all deliverables mandated by HSDF’s client.
The incumbent will oversee and advance initiatives and workstreams within diverse domains of the health and social sectors.

This role involves managing daily workflows, coordinating cross-functional teams, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, analyzing performance metrics, and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Additionally, the position requires strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, resolve issues, and foster collaborative partnerships. Proficiency in relevant software tools, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential qualifications for this position.
Plans and oversees designated projects and/or project workstreams to ensure timely completion, which involves coordinating workflows, developing and updating work and status reports, and performing quality checks on all deliverables and reports. Additionally, the role involves creating detailed operational strategies to achieve program objectives and consistently seeks and executes opportunities for HSDF to enhance value and amplify its impact.
Engages in collaborative problem-solving sessions with teams and clients, actively supporting the facilitation of client engagements, workshops, and the creation of structured documents and reports.
Conducts comprehensive research, analysis, and advisory services to identify, develop, execute, and share high-caliber insights for projects and the HSDF knowledge base.
Consistently deliver program updates to diverse stakeholders, covering strategic direction, necessary adjustments, and ongoing progress.
Forging strategic alliances and collaborations with essential stakeholders at State, National, and International levels represents a core responsibility. Close coordination with the communications team ensures the creation of high-quality knowledge materials, compelling visuals, and engaging narratives centered on project activities.
Conducts thorough investigations to uncover grant funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission, facilitating both the initiation of new programs and the ongoing support of existing initiatives. Drafts proposals and responses for emerging opportunity areas as needed, while also innovating new concepts and pinpointing potential avenues for expanding the scope of work and launching additional projects.
Oversees all technical deliverables specified by the client, including costing analyses, financial modeling, and related tasks.
Duties may include additional tasks or projects as assigned by the supervisor.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment are necessary. Candidates should also demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions and be adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of specialized skills, technical expertise, and strong interpersonal attributes.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, with a Master’s degree being advantageous.
Requires a minimum of six years of hands-on experience in public health advisory roles or management consulting positions.
Demonstrates exceptional analytical abilities, including the capacity to gather, evaluate, and interpret data to extract meaningful insights.
Proficient in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in English is essential, encompassing strong oral and written communication skills, enabling the preparation of comprehensive documents on intricate topics for varied audiences, the delivery of persuasive speech and writing, and the clear, concise articulation of ideas.
Proficiency in an additional language presents an asset.
Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a participative management setting, while also exhibiting strong independent work capabilities and teamwork proficiency.
Able to act independently when necessary and provide effective solutions to obstacles and challenges.
Proven experience collaborating effectively in the North region and managing stakeholder relationships is required.
Skilled in leveraging robust analytical methodologies to assess and enhance public health and social sector initiatives.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of cultural, social, and political dynamics in Nigeria or other low- and middle-income countries, with experience navigating diverse government contexts.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in coordinating tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and overseeing project execution with precision and efficiency.
