Job Summary

The Associate will deliver technical support to the programs team for all deliverables assigned by HSDF’s client.

This individual will spearhead initiatives and oversee various project streams spanning diverse healthcare and social service sectors.

The candidate should possess strong business acumen, enabling them to expertly oversee and execute programmatic objectives with precision and decisive action to drive optimal organizational outcomes.

The position entails overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Additionally, the role requires analyzing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity. Effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this role.

Plans and oversees designated projects and/or project workstreams until completion, which involves coordinating workflows, developing and documenting work plans and progress updates, and performing quality assessments on all deliverables and reports. Additionally, this role formulates detailed operational strategies to achieve program objectives while proactively identifying and executing opportunities for HSDF to enhance its contributions and expand its influence.

Engages actively in collaborative problem-solving initiatives with team members and clients, assisting in the coordination and execution of client engagements, workshops, and the creation of comprehensive documents and reports.

Conducts in-depth research, formulates insightful analyses, and provides strategic advisory support to enhance projects and enrich HSDF’s knowledge base through robust, high-quality deliverables.

Consistently update stakeholders across the organization regarding program strategy, progress, and any necessary adjustments.

Cultivate key stakeholder relationships and strategic partnerships across state, national, and international levels while collaborating closely with the communications team to deliver premium knowledge resources, visual content, and compelling project narratives.

Researches and identifies grant funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission to support the development of new programs and the expansion of existing ones. Drafts proposals and responses for emerging opportunity areas, addressing requests as needed, while also proposing innovative ideas and uncovering potential avenues for broadening the scope of work and initiating new projects.

Oversees all technical deliverables requested by the client, including costing analyses and modeling tasks.

Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support operational objectives and team goals.

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or another quantitative discipline is required. A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a similar role is necessary, along with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. Familiarity with project management methodologies and regulatory compliance standards is highly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this position. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team is also a key requirement.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the required qualifications, technical competencies, and behavioral competencies.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s Degree.

With a minimum of six years of hands-on expertise in public health advisory or management consulting, you bring substantial experience to this role.

Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to systematically gather, process, and interpret information to derive meaningful conclusions and actionable insights.

Demonstrates proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Proficiency in English is essential, encompassing strong oral and written communication skills, along with the capacity to draft documents on intricate topics for varied audiences, articulate arguments persuasively, and convey ideas with clarity and precision.

Proficiency in a foreign language is considered a valuable asset.

Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within a participative management structure while also exercising independence and contributing productively as part of a team.

Able to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and develop effective solutions to address obstacles and challenges.

Proficient in operating within the Northern region and adept at fostering stakeholder relationships.

Proven ability to leverage comprehensive analytical methods to assess and enhance the effectiveness of public health and social sector initiatives.

Demonstrates a deep understanding of cultural, social, and political nuances essential for effective engagement in Nigeria or other low- and middle-income countries across various levels of government.

Demonstrates exceptional aptitude for organizing tasks efficiently and managing projects with precision and strategic foresight.
