Inspecting and preparing loads for transport involves assessing their dimensions, configuration, weight, and specifying the appropriate handling equipment required.

Responsibilities include assembling, servicing, and disassembling lighting fixtures, control systems, and related electrical and rigging components for photography, television, film, video, and live event productions.

This role involves the assembly, precise alignment, and secure anchoring of substantial equipment, encompassing the installation of cranes, mobile booms, and temporary frameworks such as scaffolding.

Rigging, programming, monitoring, repairing, and operating lighting equipment are essential to elevate events and performances, requiring tasks such as loading equipment, managing cable layouts, suspending lights (including the use of climbing equipment), and precisely adjusting fixtures for optimal illumination.

The role involves setting up and managing the lighting system for productions, executing lighting effects in alignment with the Lighting Designer’s specifications, and operating either manual or computer-controlled systems throughout performances.

Evaluating the integrity of wiring configurations and equipment installations to mitigate potential hazards such as fire or electrical shock, while ensuring all lighting apparatus remains operational and secure.

After each performance, equipment must be disassembled and stored, and post-production responsibilities include installing temporary electrical power systems.

Responsibilities include dismantling and properly storing rigging equipment following its use, promptly reporting any safety concerns, and strictly complying with established occupational health and safety protocols.
