A Senior Backend Engineer is sought to architect, develop, and optimize our foundational services and APIs, ensuring robust scalability and performance.
In this position, you will assume complete responsibility for our backend infrastructure, enhance database efficiency, and uphold the security, resilience, and uninterrupted accessibility of our systems.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties, including strategic planning, team leadership, and performance monitoring to ensure operational excellence. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency across departments. Collaborate with senior management to align business objectives with actionable initiatives, fostering growth and innovation. Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and mitigate risks to meet organizational goals. Conduct regular assessments of team performance, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
Design scalable, resilient backend systems and microservices characterized by robustness, clarity, and ease of maintenance.
Develop and implement robust, high-performance RESTful APIs with a strong emphasis on security and seamless integration.
Proactively enhance database performance by refining query execution, structuring efficient schema architectures, and implementing robust caching solutions to accommodate heavy traffic demands.
Infrastructure & DevOps: Collaborate on CI / CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and server performance monitoring.
Mentorship responsibilities include conducting code reviews for peer pull requests and providing guidance to mid-level engineers on optimal methodologies and best practices.
Handles additional duties as assigned and performs any supplementary tasks deemed necessary to support ongoing operations and objectives.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is required.
A minimum of four years of hands-on backend development at the production level is required.
Tech Stack: Demonstrated expertise in the Laravel framework, coupled with in-depth knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Regis.
Proven expertise in system design, with a strong background in scaling infrastructure, orchestrating message queues, and architecting microservices.
Proficiency in Docker, cloud platforms such as AWS, DigitalOcean, or GCP, and CI/CD pipeline management is required.
Proactive problem-solver dedicated to implementing clean code, adhering to security best practices, and optimizing performance at every stage.
