Job Summary
We are in search of a meticulous and proficient Ink Matcher / Ink Technician to become part of our production team.
The ideal candidate will prepare, formulate, and tailor inks to meet precise customer specifications, guaranteeing color accuracy, superior print quality, and optimal production efficiency.
The successful candidate must demonstrate practical experience in flexible packaging, gravure, or flexographic printing operations, along with a solid grasp of ink systems, color management techniques, and quality assurance protocols.
Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical duties aimed at ensuring operational excellence, including developing and implementing strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional projects, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Lead high-performing teams by fostering collaboration, delegating tasks effectively, and providing mentorship to enhance productivity and professional growth. Analyze complex data to identify trends, optimize workflows, and drive informed decision-making that supports organizational objectives. Serve as a liaison between departments to align goals, resolve conflicts, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, monitor performance metrics to evaluate progress, address gaps, and implement corrective measures as needed.
Develop and blend inks in accordance with customer specifications and production standards.
Accurate color matching must be achieved in accordance with approved standards, Pantone references, and customer-provided samples.
Ensure ink viscosity, density, and other critical technical parameters are consistently monitored and adjusted to maintain superior print quality.
Ensure the timely provision of inks to maintain smooth printing operations.
Perform meticulous color verification and stringent quality inspections at every stage of the production cycle to ensure adherence to specifications.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in color output, then propose appropriate corrective measures to ensure consistency.
Maintain precise documentation of ink formulations, batch identifiers, and color specifications.
Oversee the ink inventory, ensuring meticulous storage and proper handling of inks, solvents, and additives to maintain optimal quality and safety standards.
Work collaboratively with Printing Operators, Production Supervisors, and Quality Control staff to address and resolve production challenges efficiently.
Maintain adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental regulations and protocols.
Implement measures to reduce ink consumption and support efforts aimed at enhancing cost efficiency.
Contribute to ongoing enhancement initiatives focused on elevating print quality and optimizing operational effectiveness.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s, HND, or OND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a closely related field is required.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in ink matching, ink technology, color management, or a comparable position within flexible packaging, printing, or a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in gravure and/or flexographic printing methodologies is essential.
Proficiency in utilizing both solvent-based and water-based ink systems is required.
Proficient in the use of flexible packaging substrates, including BOP, PET, PE, CPP, and Foil materials.
Demonstrates expertise in color theory, ink formulation, and color matching methodologies.
Possesses exceptional color perception and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in utilizing color measurement instruments and quality control methodologies is required.
Demonstrates exceptional analytical thinking and adept troubleshooting capabilities.
