Job Summary
We are in search of a seasoned Nautical Instructor, ideally a retired Master holding a valid Certificate of Competency (COC), to enhance our maritime training institute.
The successful candidate must possess extensive experience in classroom instruction and demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional educational delivery to students.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, while maintaining rigorous adherence to established policies and procedures. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive sustainable growth. Monitor performance metrics and provide data-driven insights to senior leadership, fostering informed decision-making and continuous development. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate potential risks through proactive oversight and diligent execution. Serve as a key liaison between departments, facilitating seamless communication and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Conduct classroom-based instruction and evaluate student progress in maritime training programs.
Revise and maintain course materials to ensure compliance with STCW standards and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Offer expert advice and support to students, fostering their academic and personal growth through tailored mentorship and guidance.
Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations to measure student performance accurately.
Partner with fellow instructors to maintain uniform training standards and uphold high-quality educational delivery.
To maintain current knowledge of industry trends and evolving regulatory requirements, it is essential to actively monitor and adapt to new developments and changes.
Requirements
Master Mariner Retired with a valid Certificate of Competency (COC), possessing extensive maritime expertise accumulated over a distinguished career at sea, seeks opportunities to leverage this experience in advisory, training, or consultancy roles within the maritime industry. A minimum of five years of hands-on teaching experience within a maritime education curriculum is required.
