Overview
The Maintenance Assistant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, security, and operational efficiency of facilities across all sites by performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
This position encompasses the execution of plumbing, electrical, generator, carpentry, and mechanical repairs, as well as servicing kitchen equipment—including Bain Marie units. Additionally, the role requires addressing repair demands, upholding safety standards, facilitating spare parts acquisition, and collaborating with technicians to reduce downtime and sustain operational efficiency.
Oversee a range of critical duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and address operational challenges while driving efficiency and productivity. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and implement strategic improvements to enhance workflow and deliver measurable results. Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance throughout all restaurant facilities—dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, storage spaces, and offices—to maintain seamless operational efficiency.
Execute practical repairs for plumbing, electrical systems, generators, carpentry, and general mechanical components within the restaurant facility.
Promptly resolve issues including leaks, lighting failures, power outages, damaged furniture, and malfunctioning kitchen equipment.
Maintain and service kitchen equipment, including Bain Marie units and other commercial kitchen systems, to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Provide assistance with the installation, adjustment, and relocation of equipment, furniture, and fixtures as needed for setups, renovations, or events.
Ensure that all maintenance operations adhere strictly to established food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety protocols.
Address maintenance requests promptly to reduce operational downtime and ensure seamless facility operations.
Oversee the maintenance of tools, spare parts, and consumables, guaranteeing their proper storage and accessibility.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source mechanical and electrical components, ensuring timely acquisition for maintenance activities.
Coordinate with external technicians to facilitate major repairs, servicing, or inspections as needed.
Ensure meticulous documentation of all maintenance actions, repairs performed, and equipment servicing details.
Ensure the secure operation and utilization of tools, ladders, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment in strict adherence to established safety guidelines and procedures.
Execute additional maintenance tasks as directed to facilitate the seamless functioning of restaurant operations.
A strong background in marketing, sales, or a related field is essential for candidates. Proficiency with CRM systems and data analysis tools is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory. Experience in digital marketing is highly preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite would be advantageous. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial. Experience working in a fast-paced environment is necessary. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a similar discipline is required.
Applicants must hold either an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Facility Management, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
A certification in facility or safety management would be considered a beneficial qualification.
A minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in facility management or maintenance operations is required for this position.
Professional experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance principles is required.

Maintains meticulous records and prepares accurate, comprehensive reports.
