ABOUT THE JOB:

The Mainstreaming Officer will oversee the timely and high-quality execution of field-level activities, receiving technical guidance from the coordinator. They will lead the team and facilitate the seamless implementation of the program in close collaboration with other Protection stakeholders. Additionally, they will uphold the survivor-centered approach, ensuring GBV survivors and other at-risk women and girls receive prompt, comprehensive services.

Oversee the daily operations of the team to ensure seamless workflow and optimal productivity. Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall performance. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align goals and foster a cohesive work environment. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to support their professional growth and development. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Prepare and present detailed reports on team performance, project statuses, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.

The Mainstreaming Officer will oversee a range of duties, encompassing but not limited to those explicitly outlined, as well as any related responsibilities that fall within the scope of the position.

Collaborate effectively with safeguarding and protection focal points to uphold safe and dignified programming standards.

Integrate essential cross-cutting themes—including gender, age, disability, protection, safeguarding, accountability, and conflict sensitivity—into all operational sectors, such as food security, WASH, shelter, and health.

We assist the Coordinator in performing child protection and GBV assessments with the Inter-agency Child Protection Assessment Resource Toolkit, modifying the tool as needed for GBV survivors. We collaborate with others Save the Children thematic areas, the national/district Child Protection Working Group, and/or external GBV sector agencies, ensuring accurate documentation of assessment findings.

Ensure humanitarian programs prioritize the prevention of harm while safeguarding the dignity, rights, and security of impacted communities, and actively work to minimize protection risks.

To ensure equitable access to services, prioritize the safety and inclusion of women, children, older persons, individuals with disabilities, and minority groups.

Enhance staff capabilities to deliver direct and tailored support services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).

Perform gender, protection, and inclusion analyses and assessments to guide program planning efforts.

Provide assistance in incorporating gender-based violence cases into existing child protection case management systems, including the Child Protection Information Management System (CPMs), the Case Management Information System (CFS), and the Psychosocial Support System (PSS).

Identify survivors of gender-based violence promptly and deliver counselling alongside other suitable response services to meet their needs effectively.

Establish and enforce the use of appropriate referral forms as required to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.

Coordinating monthly gatherings is essential, encompassing both parent forums and child protection committee sessions.

Deliver vital psychosocial first aid to individuals of all ages as required, ensuring immediate and compassionate support.

Provide strategic direction and oversight for initiatives aimed at preventing and addressing sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) as well as gender-based violence within project communities.

Mentor, supervise, and meticulously track the implementation of gender-based violence initiatives while developing a monitoring action plan to ensure quality control.

Perform or facilitate Gender and Inclusion Analysis to guide program development.

Champion the integration of women, girls, persons with disabilities, and other underserved groups into every stage of project development, from initial planning through implementation and final decision-making.

Perform all additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with established priorities and operational needs.

Proficiency in utilizing the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (BRIMS) and strong case management skills are required for this role. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, nursing, or any closely related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of proven field experience in a comparable role or related capacity.
