MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the Logistics Manager and in direct technical coordination with the same role, the Logistics Assistant/Driver will be responsible for maintaining and repairing MDM premises while also operating MDM vehicles.
The selected candidate will be tasked with ensuring the operational integrity of MDM facilities by performing a range of maintenance duties, including equipment servicing, outdoor area upkeep, and assessing repair requirements. Additionally, they will address maintenance requests spanning electrical, plumbing, carpentry, furniture, and related areas. The role also entails operating MDM vehicles in strict adherence to established MDM protocols and procedures.

Diagnose and trace all faults to accurately assess their nature and severity, ensuring a thorough determination of the necessary scope of work.
Prepare comprehensive material, part, and component procurement estimates by analyzing project requirements to determine precise quantities, specifications, and cost projections for sourcing and acquisition.
Verify the integrity and suitability of all materials intended for acquisition to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
To provide guidance on optimal repair execution methods, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality assurance, ensuring efficient and high-standard outcomes.
Perform all types of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs as required.
Identifies components requiring replacement and performs the necessary replacements prior to any adverse impacts.
Execute all repairs in accordance with established global standards and industry best practices, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality benchmarks.
Provide assistance to all contractors in fulfilling their assigned duties pertaining to on-site operations.

Maintain a comprehensive record of all repairs and replacements, providing a detailed inventory update every two weeks.
Conduct weekly or daily inspections of all MDM properties to assess conditions, identify requirements, and submit detailed reports accordingly.
Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking and availability of stock, including conducting regular audits, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining precise records of all transactions. Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels, preventing shortages or excess stock. Implement efficient storage solutions and organize warehouse layouts to enhance accessibility and operational efficiency. Monitor stock movements, analyze usage patterns, and generate reports to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure compliance with inventory policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements throughout all activities.
Upon receipt of goods, verify quantities and conditions against purchase orders, document discrepancies if any, and securely store items in designated locations, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager throughout the process.
Consistently monitor inventory quantities through physical audits to ensure accurate stock records and prevent discrepancies.
Upon receipt of an order, verify the quantity of packages, inspect both packaging and contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged goods—to the Logistics Manager.
Upon receipt, promptly update the stock cards by entering the receipt document’s reference number, then store the goods according to the Logistics Manager’s specified instructions.
Regularly verify that essential store items are consistently stocked and readily accessible to customers.

Always adhere to the Nigerian traffic regulations and observe the specified speed limits while operating the vehicle.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols by consistently wearing a seatbelt while operating the vehicle and verifying that all passengers are securely fastened as well.
A valid driving license must be maintained at all times, and it should be readily available for presentation upon request or during any inspections.
Ensuring all required documentation remains valid and is renewed prior to expiration, including the annual road safety inspection and the registration of primary drivers with the rental company.
Responsible for ensuring the vehicle remains in optimal operational condition through regular upkeep and timely repairs.
Consistently monitoring the vehicle’s engine, oil levels, brake fluid, tire pressure, windshield washer fluid, and other essential components ensures optimal performance and safety. This involves regular inspections to verify fluid levels, system functionality, and overall mechanical condition, thereby preventing potential issues and maintaining reliability.
In the event of a technical issue or maintenance requirement, the incumbent is expected to promptly notify their immediate supervisor to ensure timely resolution and minimize operational disruptions.
After validation from the direct supervisor, the incumbent is tasked with coordinating or, if feasible, executing any required maintenance activities.
The vehicle must be maintained in pristine condition, both internally and externally, at all times.
The vehicle must be equipped with all required tools and materials, including spare wheels, airlifts, belts, and ropes, and these items must be kept in proper working condition at all times.
Each refill is conducted precisely when the tank reaches half of its total capacity.
