Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of all activities necessary to deliver and maintain network services for enterprise customers. This involves overseeing the management of current network infrastructure systems while also spearheading the development of new solutions, in addition to handling system and network administration tasks.
We are seeking a motivated individual to oversee a range of critical responsibilities, including project management, team coordination, and client relationship maintenance. The role involves developing strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and analyzing data to drive informed business decisions. Additionally, the position requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute initiatives, monitoring performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and reporting progress to senior leadership. Qualified candidates must possess strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing projects from inception to completion.
Extensive engineering-level support is required for a wide range of switching and routing technologies, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, and spanning tree protocols such as MSTP, RSTP, and 802.1x. Additional expertise must encompass 802.11, 802.16, VPN, DM VPN, SDN, VRRP/HSRP, WAN acceleration, Los, VoIP, VTC, cloud-based solutions, and automation, along with other relevant network technologies.
Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues related to network communication failures and performance bottlenecks.
Proficient in evaluating system logs to detect anomalies and promptly resolving reported network issues.
Responsibilities involve managing VTP, ISL/802.1q, IPSec and GRE tunneling protocols, VLAN configurations, Ether Channel setups, trunking operations, port security implementations, as well as maintaining STP and RSTP environments.
Proficiency in configuring LAN, WAN, and WLAN connections via VS/L2VC for MPLS Layer 2 VPN deployments is essential, alongside availability for on-call duties as needed.
Interprets and supports the implementation of technical strategies for the design, configuration, and upkeep of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring network services remain stable, secure, and operationally effective and efficient.
Engages in the planning and implementation of internal and/or external network architectures tailored to meet the specifications of assigned projects.
Oversee the deployment of IP/MPLS services, including installations, testing, and handover procedures.
Proactively execute corrective maintenance tasks across the IP/MPLS network infrastructure.
Design and implement automation solutions and internal systems to streamline the maintenance, operation, and integration of the IP/MPLS network, enhancing efficiency and reliability in network care and support activities.
Overseeing the planning, configuration, and implementation of network infrastructure constitutes the primary responsibility of this role.
Design and implement routing architectures for Core, Access, Metro, and Edge network infrastructures, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of converged data and communications services.
Leverage cloud technologies, robust security frameworks, big data solutions, IoT integrations, and advanced networking architectures—including SDN, SDS, SD-WAN, and SD-WAN—to spearhead and accelerate the digital transformation initiative.
Crafting responses to Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and developing comprehensive proposals are essential duties within this role.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for this role. A minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar position is essential. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is necessary. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are critical. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently is expected. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards is a must.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline—or an equivalent qualification—is required.
Requires at least six years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and administering IP network systems.
Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate, and Blue Coat technologies is a prerequisite for this role.
A thorough understanding of network technology and protocols.
Operating systems knowledge.
Proficiency in implementing structured network cabling systems is essential, including expertise in design, installation, and maintenance of comprehensive network infrastructures.
Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal communication skills at an advanced level.
