Oversees a comprehensive range of duties encompassing critical operational and strategic tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of electrical engineering deliverables and technical submissions prepared by contractors.

Verify the integrity and functionality of electrical installations, such as substations, transformers, switchgear, and power systems, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards. Conduct thorough inspections, tests, and maintenance to confirm that all components operate correctly and meet regulatory requirements. Identify any defects, inefficiencies, or hazards, and document findings with detailed reports. Collaborate with engineering teams to address issues and implement corrective actions as needed. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and maintenance activities to support compliance audits and future reference.

Design, installation, and maintenance of medium-voltage distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), cable networks, lighting systems, grounding (earthing), and lightning protection systems.

Perform comprehensive site inspections and technical audits to verify adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and all project requirements.

Ensure project milestones are accurately tracked and deliver technical assessments to support contractor payment approvals.

Evaluate potential technical risks, discrepancies from standards, and matters related to quality assurance.

Compile assurance reports and provide strategic recommendations based on thorough analysis.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Professional registration in a relevant body, such as the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (CORE), the Institution of Engineers (PE), the Chartered Engineer (Cent), or an equivalent certification, is required.

Professional Experience Requirements:
For Associate roles, candidates must possess a minimum of six years of directly relevant experience. Consultant positions demand at least twelve years of applicable expertise in industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, power generation, transmission, or major infrastructure projects.

Proficient in electrical systems encompassing high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV), and low voltage (LV) networks, substations, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and power distribution.

Proficiency in relevant industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and NFPA is essential.

Experience in Owner’s Engineering, Consulting, EPC/EPCM, Third-Party Inspection, Project Assurance, or Technical Audit roles will be particularly beneficial.

Seeking candidates who hold relevant professional certifications is a key requirement for this role. These credentials should align with the specific demands of the position and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development. Qualifications required include PMP certification, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor status, BOSH certification, IEEE membership, Electrical Safety Certification, and Protection & Control Certification or an equivalent credential.
