Job Summary

The WASH Assistant will contribute to the development, execution, and oversight of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives across the state. This position offers practical engagement in community-led WASH projects designed to enhance access to clean water, encourage sanitation and hygiene behaviors, and bolster health outcomes in underserved and conflict-affected populations.

The assistant will collaborate closely with the WASH Officer and Program Team to facilitate field operations, engage communities, gather and analyze data, conduct monitoring activities, and maintain accurate records. This role offers hands-on experience in development best practices, with a focus on community-driven WASH initiatives and health promotion strategies.

Oversee and deliver a range of critical tasks to support organizational objectives, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with established standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and enhance overall productivity. Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate clear communication, resolve discrepancies, and align efforts toward shared goals. Monitor performance metrics, conduct regular evaluations, and provide actionable feedback to drive continuous development and accountability. Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute insights, assess risks, and recommend best practices that align with long-term business priorities.

Support the execution of WASH initiatives across project communities, encompassing water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure development, and hygiene promotion strategies.

Contribute to community mobilization and engagement initiatives focused on WASH-related activities, training programs, and awareness campaigns.

Engage in on-site assessments to oversee the operational status of WASH infrastructure, including boreholes, latrines, and handwashing facilities.

Assist with initiatives aimed at promoting hygiene, such as organizing community campaigns and conducting sensitization sessions in schools.

Assist in gathering data necessary for establishing baselines, tracking progress, and assessing the impact of WASH interventions.

Support the documentation of field activities, key achievements, insights gained, and obstacles encountered.

Facilitate the distribution and monitoring of WASH materials and hygiene kits, as required.

Responsible for ensuring precise documentation of WISH initiatives and beneficiary details.

Facilitate collaborative engagement with community leaders, local authorities, and pertinent stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and alignment of initiatives.

Seeking individuals with a proven track record of success in their field, along with relevant qualifications and ample experience. Ideal candidates must demonstrate expertise through educational achievements and professional accomplishments. A foundational understanding of hygiene promotion, sanitation principles, and water safety standards is beneficial.
