A distinguished Microfinance Bank headquartered in Elite State is in search of a highly skilled, proactive, and technically proficient professional to fill the role of ICT Officer.
The chosen applicant will report to senior leadership while overseeing the daily administration, operation, and upkeep of the bank’s IT infrastructure. This individual will be tasked with maintaining peak performance of the Core Banking Application (CBA), enforcing stringent information security protocols, enhancing network connectivity, and providing technical support for electronic banking channels—all in strict adherence to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) IT regulations.
Key duties entail managing and overseeing daily operations to ensure seamless workflow, coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones, and maintaining strict adherence to organizational policies and industry regulations. Additionally, the role involves analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, and fostering a collaborative work environment that supports innovation and professional growth. Proficiency in relevant software tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels are essential for success in this position.
The bank’s hardware, servers, operating systems, and software applications must be configured, maintained, and managed to ensure seamless daily operations. This encompasses overseeing system administration tasks and performing routine maintenance to uphold optimal performance and reliability.
Core Banking Support involves overseeing and delivering first-tier technical assistance for the bank’s Core Banking Application (CBA), with a focus on maintaining optimal database operations, executing end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) processes, and ensuring the precision of generated data.
Implement and oversee resilient network security protocols—such as firewalls, antivirus solutions, and access management systems—to safeguard the bank’s digital infrastructure against cyber threats.
Responsibilities include ensuring robust data protection by conducting meticulous daily, weekly, and monthly backups, alongside regularly verifying the bank’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) to maintain uninterrupted business operations.
Monitor and sustain the functionality of electronic banking systems, agency banking networks, and point-of-sale terminal deployments to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery to clients.
Assist in gathering essential system technical logs and reports ensuring consistent compliance with CBN/FDIC e-rendition platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is required. Proficiency in pertinent software applications and tools is essential. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are required. Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively is expected. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two to four years of post-qualification experience in IT/ICT Officer roles within financial institutions, specifically with practical expertise in Microfinance Core Banking Applications.
Relevant IT certifications, including CCNA, Compton Security+, GCSE, or ITIL, are highly desirable and will strengthen your application.
Technical Competencies: Proficient in SQL database management, LAN/WAN network administration, as well as Windows and Linux server management, with a solid grasp of cybersecurity best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, rapid diagnostic expertise, unwavering integrity, and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure while operating autonomously are required.
