Job Summary
The Inventory Officer / Cost Controller will oversee stock movements, uphold inventory precision, manage cost controls, and ensure all inventory transactions are accurately documented within the store.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing the planning, coordination, and execution of tasks central to the role’s objectives. Deliver consistent performance in fulfilling assigned functions while ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to foster alignment with organizational goals and enhance operational efficiency. Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making to address challenges promptly and drive continuous improvement. Uphold accountability for results by monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes, and implementing corrective measures as needed to optimize performance.
Daily inventory levels must be meticulously monitored and tracked to ensure accuracy and availability.
Perform systematic inventory counts and reconciliation procedures on a consistent basis.
Responsible for accurately documenting and confirming all incoming stock, transfers between locations, and outgoing stock movements.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and variances, documenting findings accurately for reporting purposes.
Compile and present reports on inventory levels and cost management.
Verify adherence to established inventory management protocols and internal control measures.
Partner with procurement, operations, and management teams to ensure stock levels are consistently balanced and sufficient for organizational needs.
The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders. The role demands a detail-oriented mindset, adaptability to evolving priorities, and a commitment to continuous learning. Additionally, familiarity with project management methodologies and prior experience in a leadership capacity are highly desirable.
A minimum of an OND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
Requires a minimum of one to three years of hands-on experience in inventory management, stock control, or cost control, with a preference for candidates with a background in the Food & Beverage sector.
Demonstrates advanced skills in utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in analytical reasoning and quantitative analysis.
Demonstrates exceptional precision and strong aptitude for managing tasks systematically and efficiently.
Maintains unwavering integrity and assumes full accountability for all actions and decisions.
Strong proficiency in communication and reporting is required.
