Job Summary

A reputable Microfinance Bank situated in Elite State is currently in search of an accomplished, proactive, and technically adept professional to fill the role of ICT Officer.

The successful applicant will report directly to senior management and oversee the daily administration, operation, and maintenance of the bank’s IT infrastructure. This individual will be tasked with ensuring the Core Banking Application (CBA) operates with maximum uptime, maintaining robust information security measures, enhancing network connectivity efficiency, and providing support for electronic banking channels—all in strict adherence to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) IT guidelines.

Oversee and execute core duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance across departments. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and present actionable insights to senior management to inform decision-making. Foster a collaborative work environment by cultivating strong cross-functional relationships and promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical guidelines while mitigating risks and resolving operational challenges proactively.

Oversee the bank’s hardware infrastructure, servers, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring seamless daily operations through diligent configuration, maintenance, and monitoring.

Core Banking Support involves overseeing and delivering first-tier technical assistance for the bank’s Core Banking Application (CBA), with a focus on maintaining robust database management, handling end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) operational activities, and ensuring the production of precise data.

Implement and oversee resilient network security protocols to safeguard the bank’s digital infrastructure, encompassing firewalls, antivirus solutions, and stringent access management systems against evolving cyber threats.

Execute daily, weekly, and monthly data backup procedures with precision, while routinely validating the bank’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) to uphold uninterrupted business operations.

Monitor and oversee electronic banking channels, agency banking platforms, and POS deployment terminals to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery to customers.

Assist in gathering essential system technical logs and reports ensuring adherence to CBN/FDIC e-rendition compliance platforms.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in software development, preferably in a leadership or mentorship role. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++, is essential, as is experience with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to convey complex technical concepts clearly.

A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Minimum of two to four years of post-qualification experience as an IT/ICT Officer in a financial institution is required, along with practical expertise in Microfinance Core Banking Applications.

Professional certifications in recognized IT disciplines, including CCNA, Compton Security+, GCSE, or ITIL, represent a valuable asset in this role.

Technical Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in SQL database management, network administration encompassing LAN and WAN configurations, administration of Windows and Linux servers, and adherence to cybersecurity best practices.

Proven problem-solving proficiency, adept diagnostic capabilities, unwavering integrity, and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure while requiring minimal oversight.
