ABOUT THE JOB
The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) Assistant at Ekklesiyar An’UWA a Nigeria (EYE) serves as a field-based professional dedicated to expanding access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, specifically in Polka and Gaza Local Government Areas of Born State. Key responsibilities include improving service accessibility, fortifying referral networks for adolescent healthcare, and delivering capacity-building initiatives for partners and staff on gender-based violence (GBV) and ASH topics to advance youth health outcomes.
LOCATION: PULKA
Oversee the daily operations of the department, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and efficient workflow management. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity and meet key performance indicators. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align projects with company objectives and drive cohesive progress. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. Manage a team of professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices in all operational activities.
The ASH Assistant will undertake the following responsibilities, which may extend beyond those explicitly enumerated but remain inherent to the role:
Facilitate both group education initiatives and one-on-one counselling sessions focused on sexual and reproductive health services.
Facilitate in-depth sexuality education workshops and collaborative parent group sessions tailored for adolescents and their caregivers.
Offer expert direction during educational sessions to Community Health Volunteers regarding Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health services.
Conduct safe motherhood sessions specifically tailored for pregnant adolescents, ensuring all activities align with established health and safety protocols throughout the engagement.
Revise all applicable ASH IEC materials to align with program facilities and oversee the reprinting of key ASH publications for distribution purposes.
Take an active role in facilitating the sensitization campaign focused on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASH) services within the community.
Organize campaigns related to ASRH
Organize and facilitate community dialogue sessions with religious and community leaders to introduce adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASH) services and youth-friendly corners, while simultaneously securing their endorsement and active participation.
During health coordination meetings, report on the progress and data associated with the programs.
Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly reports summarizing operational activities and performance metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in specific software tools, such as those used for data analysis or project management, is required. Prior experience in a similar role, typically a minimum of three years, is highly preferred. Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems efficiently are essential. Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities are also necessary to collaborate effectively within the organization.
A Diploma or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in a field of science or Public Health is required.
Seeking a candidate with at least two years of hands-on experience in designing and executing Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) programs specifically within emergency contexts.
