Our esteemed client, a distinguished hotel situated in the Amino Odin district of Lagos and Abuja, is seeking the expertise of a highly skilled and seasoned Hotel Accountant and Head of Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
The role involves compiling monthly management accounts and overseeing the preparation of daily revenue ledgers, either directly or through supervision.
Compiling the schedule for all statutory obligations and ensuring their timely payment are key responsibilities.
Collaborate with management and the internal audit unit to develop internal control procedures. Evaluate existing controls and propose modifications to management as needed.
Verifies that all expenditures remain within allocated budget parameters and provides preliminary approval for expense requests.
A strong understanding of inventory management is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to oversee monthly stocktaking and reconciliation processes while ensuring strict adherence to inventory procedures.
Compiles or collaborates with other account officers to prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
Collaborate with the procurement department and store personnel to prepare a payment schedule for all creditors, while also coordinating with the front desk manager to calculate receivables.
The successful applicant must hold either an HND or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, complemented by either ICAN or AAT qualifications, along with substantial years of practical experience. Candidates who have reached an advanced stage in the ICAN program will be particularly favored. Applicants with ICAN AAT2 or Foundation-level qualifications, accompanied by relevant professional experience, are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with at least one accounting software application, is essential.

Candidates residing outside Lagos are ineligible for consideration unless currently based in Abuja.
