Our client, a well-established hotel located in the Amino Odin area of Lagos and Abuja, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Accountant and Head of Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing financial operations and ensuring robust internal controls, including the management of accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role demands a strategic approach to financial management, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and the implementation of best practices in audit and accounting procedures.
Monthly management accounts are prepared, and daily revenue ledgers are either prepared or supervised.
Compiling and maintaining a comprehensive schedule of all statutory obligations, this role involves ensuring timely and accurate settlement of each payment.
Collaborate with management and the internal audit unit to develop internal control procedures. Evaluate existing controls and propose adjustments to management as needed.
Ensures all expenditures adhere strictly to allocated budget constraints and secures necessary approvals for each expense.
We require strong expertise in inventory management and must collaborate with colleagues to oversee monthly stocktaking and reconciliation processes while ensuring adherence to established inventory procedures.
Compiles or collaborates with account officers to complete monthly bank reconciliation statements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Collaborate with the procurement department and store personnel to prepare payment schedules for all creditors, while coordinating with the front desk manager to compute receivables.
The successful applicant should hold a minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, along with ICAN, AAT, or an equivalent professional qualification, and possess several years of relevant experience. Candidates who have advanced to the final stage of ICAN will be highly regarded. Those with ICAN AAT Level 2 or Foundation qualifications and comparable experience are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as at least one accounting software, is essential.
We seek candidates residing in Lagos, with a preference for those located in or near Amino Odin.
