Responsible for performing customer premise installations, which encompass racking, cabling, bonding, and grounding tasks.
Collaborate with various departments and the Manager of OSP Construction to synchronize fiber-related initiatives.
Execute precise ring cuts on active fiber networks while ensuring uninterrupted service for existing customers.
Conduct fiber optic testing utilizing Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (Others), light sources, and power meters.
Dismantle, reconnect, bond/ground, and validate fiber optic equipment in accordance with established division standards.
Maintain precise documentation of equipment locations, splicing configurations, and termination details within the fiber database.
Provide support to the Construction and Engineering departments by facilitating the acceptance and activation of the fiber network.
Install fiber optic equipment, patch panels, and related components in accordance with established standards and specifications.
Oversee operations, relay information, and implement corrective measures to resolve issues impacting fiber or fiber-related equipment.
Responsibilities include deploying demarcation enclosures and other necessary telecom infrastructure components, ensuring proper installation and functionality. This role requires adherence to industry standards and safety protocols while coordinating with teams to meet project timelines efficiently.
Proficient in contemporary fiber splicing methodologies is a prerequisite for this role.
Experienced professionals in fiber optic network maintenance and installation should possess proficiency with essential tools, including Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (Others), optical power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multimeters, fiber cleavers, wire strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, tone generators, duct Rodgers, extension ladders, and bucket trucks.
Proficient in executing tasks with minimal oversight while leveraging specialized knowledge to assess challenges and determine optimal resolutions.
You will be expected to fulfill a range of scheduling requirements, encompassing both standard duty hours and on-call responsibilities as needed.
Required to accommodate night shifts and overtime as necessary.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required, along with any industry-specific certifications mandated by the role.
A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering—or a closely related field—is required.
