Job Summary
A dynamic and proficient Fiber Installation Support Technician is sought to strengthen our team.
The preferred applicant will provide support to our Fiber teams in the implementation of fiber optic cable installations, maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality throughout the process.
This position requires providing assistance to field operations, completing diverse assignments, and partnering with colleagues to expedite project schedules and reduce operational interruptions. The preferred candidate must maintain accessibility and possess the flexibility to work on weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Oversee and execute critical duties to ensure operational excellence, including managing team performance, developing strategic initiatives, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Implement policies and procedures to enhance productivity while maintaining compliance with organizational standards. Facilitate cross-functional communication to align departmental goals with broader company objectives. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress and identify areas for improvement, driving continuous growth. Collaborate with stakeholders to allocate resources effectively and prioritize high-impact projects. Ensure adherence to deadlines and budget constraints while delivering measurable results in a fast-paced setting.
Assist with the deployment of fiber optic cables through ducts, conduits, and other designated pathways.
Laying and supervising the installation of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) ducts is essential for ensuring the protection and systematic organization of fiber optic cables.
Safely dismantle interlocks and other obstructions to enable seamless cable installation.
Execute thrust boring operations to establish conduits for fiber optic cable installations beneath roadways, walkways, or other obstructions.
Field support entails delivering comprehensive assistance to the Fiber team throughout installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance operations.
Ensure strict adherence to established safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment for both yourself and your colleagues.
Collaborate seamlessly with technicians, engineers, and project managers to deliver projects punctually and in full compliance with specifications.
Maintain meticulous documentation of all tasks completed, ensuring precise records of cable routes, duct layouts, and any technical challenges encountered during operations.
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business administration, or accounting, and possess at least three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in financial software, data analysis tools, and advanced Excel is essential, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Additionally, the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines is required. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management principles is a plus.
A relevant academic background, such as a diploma or degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or an equivalent discipline, is required.
Preferred candidates will possess prior experience in fiber optic cable installation, telecommunications, or a related discipline.
